waiting patienty still for YAB...

Waiting patiently for latest YAB subbed episode to be released..sigh. Read that the subbers are deliberately delaying the ep7 release because they wanted to "prove" someone has stolen their subs. There is sooo much "fire" going on in viikii about someone stealing their subs, it was like "wow!! what did i step into kinda atmosphere..."

Reading though all the posts and comments, I felt the whole thing seem to be tipping over. Much that I appreciate the subbers' hardwork and understand their frustrations over the "theft", the whole affair has become pretty scary...While I personally would also be dismayed if anyone else "steals" my summaries and passing it off as theirs, yet I dont think I will get so fired up since none of us actually owned the copyright to the videos technically speaking. I just feel that we are lucky to even get to watch the raws online with no repercussions...

For me, I figured we took it upon ourselves with all the subbing and translations at our own expense and time because we wanted to share the drama with the rest, and not because we want to be popular on the internet. So if that was the "good" intention to being with, I just thought there really is no need to get so upset since people who like the site will always return to the original site... perhaps I am seeing it all too simply and missing something important here.

If anyone should really be upset, I reckon the Korean production house are the only entitled ones since all these internet streaming with subs actually potentially eat into their overseas media sales... The celebs wont be too bothered since they just get more popular from greater exposure. *chuckles*

Well, thankfully I just stick to doing summaries from raw videos. At least I will never be embroiled in those tussles and I dont have to ever feel guilty about uploading a video which isnt mine (legally owning the original vcd does not equate the right to upload it in public channels).

And now we understand why Microsoft and Record companies are pissed abt all the piracy and clamming it down so hard. It's the same theory isnt it? People "stealing" their work....and the copyright owners starts to get vindictive...What happen to "sharing" without care? Sigh...

K-Drama + K-Music: "You are beautiful" is great! the OST is fantastic too!

Due to all the recommendation here about the ongoing korean drama "you are beautiful", I gave it a shot..and the verdict is...I love it too!!! It is certainly a must watch. Thanks to all who had told me to watch it!

In fact, the first 2 episodes had me laughing so hard, esp the part where she had to spit the saliva to try to put out the candle. It was hilarious. That wasnt the only funny bits but that had rather tickled me for good minutes!

Initially, I thought they could have chosen a cuter lead Hwang Tae Kyung for the band. At certain angles, I didnt think he was that good looking and thought he was really too "slim". He looked even skinner than me with that skiiny jeans! However, he quickly proved to become rather endearing as the plot deepens and his character evolves with less snarl and scowl. The part where he was insisting he paid 100000won was so funny too. So indignant! haaaa haaa. Plus, he actually doesnt look that bad after they got rid of the awlful fringe and minimise the dark eye liner. The only thing I think that can further improve is to rid that pouting lips thingie when he is annoyed...hmmm..I think that "look" doesnt quite suit him.

If I were to pick my fav eye candy, I definitely would go for Kang Shin Woo, though I think they make him out to be kinda wuss. I mean if he likes the girl, just go for it. Why does he have to be so "in the background" and acting all so pathetic. I suppose he is suppose to come off looking romantic and die hard nice guy but somehow, it doesnt do it for me. I mean in reality, if I have a guy friend like that, I will tell him he is acting like a loser since the girl isnt attached to anyone. Why did he hesitate so much esp since he guessed that Tae Kyung already knows the true gender of Mi Nam. The scene where he was secretly tailing Mi Nam and helping her out was little "stalker creepy" for me. I think his greatest flaw in this character is precisely lacking in character to date. He needs to be more of a man. Tae Kyung might appear an asshole at the date but people can associate with it because he displays his personality, fiesty yet warm hearted underneath.Shin woo thus pales in comparison...does a guy like him even exists?

I am sooo dying to watch epi 7 now. I cannot believe Tae Kyung kissed that blackmailer!!! And he even closed his eyes!! My god! I thought he was doing it for Minam but why on earth he looked as if he was sooo into it and enjoying the moment....ahhhhh!

At this point, I will leave you with my favourite OST track below. If you like some others, check out the playlist on the right panel.

Am back!

Hey folks!

Sorry for the long silence. Apart from busy with the shift, I went off to Maldive for a long holiday. Yep...a holiday to die for... :P

It was fabulous without doubt, a piece of paradise on earth. I spent so much time out in the sea that I actually got a mild burnt on my arms despite slapping on tons of sunblock. It only took 2 hrs to do the damage.... I forgot to wear a cap and so my scalp had to pay for it being dull lobster red now... However, it was a lovely experience and the night snorkelling was marvellous. Some fishes were amazingly bold and keep coming right at me. I didnt want them too close as I wasnt sure if my sunblock in the sea would do them anygood at close distance...Maybe I worry too much....

I havent offload my pixs as yet since I just returned, give me some time to settle and I shall try to share my picture perfect hols with u guys.

Meanwhile, I watched Tokyo Dogs episode one and I really liked it. Some parts had me laughing quite a bit when Oguri had to deal with his mum calling him each time in the middle of a case. His expression was quite funny. I am not sure if I will ever get use to Hiro with that "nasty" vagabond beard... Somehow it looks kinda weird on his boyish face (in my opinion at least). However, I see a potentially comical pair and the chemistry should work well if the script is good. I am looking forward to episode 2 already!

Nothing new...

In case u are wondering the silence shrouding here, with absolutely no updates. Well, am busy moving out to another rented apartment and up to my eyeballs trying to sort the move. I hate movin, its a nitemare! Oh okay, back to ringing local movers for quotes.

Meanwhile, let's all await the screening of Tokyo Dogs on 19th Oct. It's a "good and lousy cop partnership" kind of plot. Kinda remind me of the Taiwanese drama Black and White but of course the plot is different. [read drama wiki for more]

J-Drama Overview: Love Shuffle

I have holed up at home the last few days catching up on this drama "Love Shuffle" telecast earlier this year. I just thought it might be something interestin to fill up my time after Buzzer Beat is over. The series turned out to be rather ok really. It's not wow excellent but its kinda entertaining in its own ways with funny bits throughout.

The drama revolves around the "love philosophy" amongst the four lead characters who happened to be neighbors, living on the top most floors of an expensive residential building. One is a male psychologist Yukichi, a successful photographer Ojiro, an IT manager Usami kei, and lastly a female foreign languages translator Aizawa Airu.

The plot starts off simple.

3 Months before their wedding ceremony, Kei was dumped by his gf Mei without a reason. All she did was repeatedly apologising without further elaborations despite Kei's pleas to change. Mei is the daughter and fav child of a wealthy businessman who owns the company that Kei is working. In fact, Kei less than ideal academic records would not have warrant him his current position if it wasnt for the fact his gf is Mei. Thinking that the cancellation of the marriage would also means the lost of his expensive flat and job left Kei totally demoralised in addition to losing to the love of his life Mei.

That night, as Kei stepped dejectedly into the lift with 3 other people, a power breakout suddenly stopped the lift in midway. The 4 started talking after realising they are all neighbors and started self introduction. By chance, they found out about Kei's misfortune in love when his ring box fell out. At the same time, Ai realised she had to pee desperately and the guys all convinced her to pee in the paper cup, while attempting to do so themselves to make it less awkward for her. Just when she was about to relent, the lights and power resumed and saved! From there, they decidedly became friends and often had gatherings at the common corridor area together.

During their conversations, everyone revealed bits and pieces of problems faced in their complex lovelife. In the course of conversation, someone said "Parting ways is easy, but it will only be a matter of time before you fall for someone else, but the feeling will gradually diminish again, hence, it is nothing but a cycle of repetition."

At that point (and on the pretext of helping Kei with Mei), the game "love shuffle" was born. The objective was to exchange their current partners, with the idea of finding out if their current partner is worthy of love, or a new lover will really be better.

The following nite, the 4 lead characters invited their partners to a gathering, after explaining the concept of love shuffle. At the start, Kei was opposed to the idea but he invited Mei anycase since he assumed she would also declined. Airu invited her stalker bf Reiko, Yukichi invited his young patient Kairi who insisted on killing herself by her 20th birthday, and Ojiro invited the older married woman Masato whom he is having an affair with.

This is where the fun begins. To kei's shock, Mei actually agreed to the game. The only person who didnt turn up was the doctor's patient who had once again committed suicide. The doctor persuade her to join the game as he wanted her to gain the will and courage to live from the experience. Oji withheld the info that his partner is a married woman, and the doctor also witheld the fact kairi is his patient and not gf.

Kei was still reluctant about the preposterous idea despite Mei's willingness to be involve. Ai revealed Mei's sharing that Kei has lost his shine over the years after working for her dad, and playfully pretended to throw the ring into the pool. However, the ring was indeed thrown in by accident and kei dived in without hesitation and with that renewed his determination to play the game seriously so as to regain mei's positive view in him.

Hence the game begins based on a shuffle of card (which really was determined by the doctor) and the cross matching begins.

The drama continues showing how the different people remains unaffected or were affected throughout the different combination. Personally, Kei's character really shine through and one begins to understand what Mei had meant about Kei not fulfilling his full potential if he continues to be with her, and thus her decision to end the relationship despite loving him greatly.

The show is not heavy at all, and definitely not preachy about love. It doesnt get messy or entangled but executed in a light hearted manner which can be easily identifiable for all. As the story progress, more mysteries would also starts to unravel affecting their behaviour. Can kairi really see god of death, does the doctor have ulterior motive? Will Kei finally reunite with Mei or will they go speerate ways? Why Ai isnt able to wholeheartly love someone? It's a pretty interesting show. You wont really be roooting for particularly anyone, but you will have your fav However, you will go away feeling satisfied with a smile on your face after the show ends.
