It has been decided that Lego big morl's first single 「Ray」will be used as an insert song for the drama Akai Ito. (their myspace page)

Akai Ito Afterthoughts

Akai Ito drama series has finally finished....

The whole drama with its roller coaster of emotions has left me reeling from aniticpation, joy, anger, shock, sorrow, compassion and finally, happiness. Each episode generally has a message to communicate and it was mostly delivered in an apt manner through the well picked cast.

The whole season had seen us rooting for Nishino tortured soul, cheering for Mei's "destined" love wih Nishino, enraged by Mei's abuse by Taka, sadden by the misunderstandings of sara, insecurities of Taka, shocked by the sudden death, annoyed by Mami's over reliance, gladness over Taka's final act of maturity and finally, contentment with the union of the two lovebirds after all the life's tribulation.

It's not just a drama. Its a story about life, reminding us such true incidents that can or are occurring around us all the time. The cast had done well without over acting.

I am glad its a happy ending for this series. It's one of the few drama that I do not crave for more seasons and am truly satisfied with the wrapping. I hope it is left as it is. Anything more would be draggy and anything less would have been falling short of goodness.

The scene opens with Nishino's mum calling out to Mei.
"Mei chan, you are Mei chan?" She asked and Mei nodded with a yes.

"You look so much like Machino san. I..... I have killed your mother." Nishino 's mum confessed as she experienced flashback of the past. " I'm sorry!! It's my fault, I have done her wrong. Machiko san, I have ruined your life!!" An agitated Nishino's mum started to breakdown, crying and profusingly apologising yet confusing Mei for her birth mother Machiko. An unease Nishino hurried to stop his mum from saying anymore seeing her disturbed state of mind.

The drug peddler guy on the other hand coolly stated "So this is the daughter of Machiko and Haru, and she is even friends with Nishino. This is such a small world eh, Nishino." "What do u mean?" Nishino turn to ask but the shrine guy interrupted, telling the drug guy that it has nothing to do with the kids and not to drag them into the picture.

Meanwhile, the shrine guy instructed Nishino to send his mum to the doctor and he will walk the girls home. Halfway through, a dazed Mei reeling from the earlier incident, split from the shrine guy and the group saying she is ok. A concerned Mia called out to her but Mei just silently nod her head to indicate she was fine. Miyabi said that Mei had always been the happy laughing sort who didnt look like she had troubles, yet today Mei looked like she was in pain. Mia agreed.

Back at home, Mei's mum was waiting for her worriedly and asked what happened when she saw her face. Mei shared she had seen Nishino's mum and that the latter had confessed about killing her birth mum. Mei added that Nishino's mum looked like she was in so much pain and had to be sent to the hospital. Mei asked her mum to tell her the truth of how her biological mum had really died. Nishino's mum on the other hand was sent for emergency treatment of drugs reaction resulting from her unstable mind conditions but the doctor assured Nishino she should be fine. Nishino worriedly nodded.

At Mei's home, her mum finally revealed the past to Mei.

"From the day I had adopted Mei, Natsumi san had been suffering in pain from her drug addictions. I have heard from Nishino that she had constantly been in and out of the hosiptal until now. I have always been in 2 minds as to whether I should hand this to you. Perhaps what is written within the letter might hurt you. However, the answer that Mei is looking for may also be contained inside. Mei, your father died from an illness. When you were 16, your father wrote this last letter." Mei stared at the letter in shock and gingerly took the envelope.

Alone, Mei opened and read her dad's letter.

" Mei, I guess you must be shocked to suddenly receive this letter. I am Haruto, your birth father. I had originally intended to never reveal my name to you, but the doctor had informed me I have very little time left. I have much things to tell you and hence I pen this letter. I had once gone astray in my lifetime, and hence I had lost Machiko and also abandoned Mei. However please do believe in this. After falling in love with machino and giving birth to you, it is the greatest happiness in my life."

At the meantime, the shrine guy approach Nishino and apologised, stating that he should have told him the whole naked truth about the past. "Haruto san is Mei's birth father. As the guy (drug peddler) had said, Haruto and I had done alot of wrong things when we were young. However, we were both subsequently ashamed of our own behaviour, and hence chosen to live our remaining lives as such. Unfortunately when Nishino and Mei were 1 yrs old, Haruto and the drug guy crossed path again."

The scene went back to the past when the drug guy accompanying Natsumi carrying Nishino, bumped into Mei's parent. Natsumi expressed surprised the guys knew each other and the drug guy said they had work together before. Mei's birth mum had looked on worriedly. One night, Natsumi had requested Mei's father to "safekeep" two packages for her. She explained if those packages were found, "that person" will definitely be arrested again. Haruto expressed hesitation but Nishino's mum pleaded with him to just help her just this once. With that Mei's father relunctantly agreed but warning her that it would be better if she did not associate with THAT person (the drug peddler) anymore. Also he reminded her not to mention this favor to Machino as he didnt want his wife to worry.

Mei's father's story was carried on from Mei's father's letter.

"As a parent myself, I could understand the feelings of a mother raising a child which was why I had gotten involved in this matter. Yet unfortunately, this very incident had brought great suffering to my closest family. "

Back to Mei at 1yr old, her mum received a call that her husband had trafficked drugs. She replied its not possible and stopped halfway. In daze, she picked up Mei.

"Deep hopelessness struck Machiko's fragile heart hence she had chosen to end her life. Howver Mei, dont blame her, it was me who had forced her on that path. After my jail term, I met u by chance on the road. I recognise you at first glance. However just when i had wanted to call out to you, you had looked at your stepfather and called him 「father」. I can still clearly recall the scene, the view of the happy family of four. Mei, cherish your family and you must always be happy. I wish from the bottom of my heart, you will always be happy. Happy 16th birthday. "

In the hospital, Nishino who had also learnt the truth visited and look on at his sleeping (drugged?) mum.

At her therapy session, the doctor asked Mami what was her feelings today.
Mami replied that she was extremely worried about Nishino. The doctor asked what matter was she concerned about? "Tthe Nishino now is very troubled. Even though I am by his side, yet he will not say anything to me. " Mami replied honestly. The doctor further probed into Mami's heart, asking what sort of weightage does Nishino hold in her heart? "Hhe is the most important person." Mami answered without a second's hesitation. "So what does Mami think. what is the most important thing you should do for the person you deemed as most important?" The doctor queried. Mami paused and couldnt answer.

Yuri and Natsu paused outside the hospital and he asked her if it was really ok like this? Yuri replied yes since it was a decision both of them made together.

Alone with Nishino, Mami repeated her doctor consultation session content to him. "The doctor had asked me how important is Nishino to me. After that, I ended up wanting to know, what sort of weightage do I hold in Nishino's heart. " Nishino paused in surprise not knowing what to say. Mami looked at Nishino without a word....

Days after at the cafe, Mei was surprised to see Nishino joining them. She sat down awkwardly. Yuri and Natsu joined in later and announced they had decided to become parents. Even though it would not be easy, but if they gave up halfway, it would be unfortunate for the child. Natsu then turned to look at Nishino, adding that he too felt it was true that a child cannot chose its own parents. (indicating he had given some thought to what Nishino had said to him at the gas station back then) "Hence after a thorough careful consideration , Yuri and I made a decision."

Mei asked Yuri if its true? Yuri nodded. Natsu informed that he is giving up soccer as well as quitting school. He will start to work instead. Yuri added that she gave much thought about what Mei had said the other day about why would it be unfortunate to give birth to the child. "What would I do if this child is born? Thinking abit more, what will happen in 10years time? Just like that, we kept thinking about things in the future. We will prob love this child. This is a decision after we gave long and hard thoughts about it. In the future, we would still need help from everyone. is it ok?" The girls chirped in of course! Meanwhile Natsu jokingly shared that he had seen Yuri's parents and he was soooo afriad of the dad and wondered if he will get bashed.... and he really did get bashed! Everyone laughed aloud. Mei said that Natsu and Yuri will soon become a family and Yuri nodded. Before the group split, they looked on at the departing couple and commented Yuri will be mum in half year...

Mei went to find his dad. Mei asked him if he rem the day he got home early and the rest of the family were waiting for his return at the train station. Mei shared she had at that time, eagerly waited for his dad to exit from the train station. "I loved walking home and holding on to dad's hands the most. Dad's hand was big and warm. I felt very safe just holding on to it. Dad, I still feel the same." Mei confided in him. "Really?" Dad asked. Mei nodded and walked ahead. Her dad muttered "Thank you Mei." Mei then turned around and suggested for the family to have a meal together this saturday, and Haruna and her will make the meal. Her dad nodded.

Miyabi on the other hand said she had changed her thoughts and she cannot hang around and go on like that with them (the drug gang) anymore, and being made use by the drug peddler. The guy called her stupid and he was the one using the drug peddler. As Miyabi left, her ex drug groupie was arrested by the hidden cops. The drug peddler witness the scene and coldly drove off without a word. The boy realised he had been duped and being made a scapegoat.

Next day, the shrine guy passed a package to Nishino and asked him to go have his meal while he take over the shift. Mei on the otherhand went back to middle school to meet Sara.

"Are you well? is your body ok?" Mei asked Sara with much concern and Sara said she is well.
"I must have scared you to suddenly called you out like this?" Sara said.
"No. I have done something terrible to you. I wonder if u will ever forgive me." Mei said.
"At the Middle school Bunka festival, Mei is the leader of the props right?" Sara asked. She went on to describe the events of the day. Mei asked if she rem everthing but Sara said no but she had read many of the "emails to the me tomorrow" describing everything.

"When I read each mail, I really wanted to meet Mei. Yet after I had sent the birthday greeting message, my mum then told me the cause of the incident. What had happened between us? Why had things turned out this way?" Sara shared.

"Sara, after you had switched school. I had felt very guilty all these while. I had always wanted to apologise to you. Really, I am really sorry!" Mei rushed out her words to Sara.

"When I was in year one, all my emails had always been about a lonely me, and incidents of being bullied. However from year two onwards, all my emails had been about Mei. How I love coming to school after meeting Mei. I am very happy now in high school and had made many friends in now. Even though I had lost my memory, but I still rem how to hang out with friends, it must have been because of Mei. " Sara shared. Mei was so touched.

Nishino opened the mobile phone out of the package given to him. It was Sara's old mobile with all the past emails she had sent to herself. Nishino started reading.

"After that, I wrote many things about Mei and Nishino. In the heart of a Nishino as a a boy, his first love has always been Mei. It was prob mutal affection. It's already hard to be able to like someone who like you, dont you think this is a miracle? Reading your story, both of you are like those portrayed in the Akai Ito legend. Is it really true you have split with Nishino? Why?" Sara asked. Mei went on to explain she accepted his request. Nishino knew he would hurt someone else if he was with Mei (refering to his mum), by the time Mei knew it, its already too late.
"Too late? Is it possible? " Sara asked.

Back to Nishino and the mobile. "It is a chanced encounter for one to meet another. However, to meet a second time, it is destiny. Mei and Nishino are definitely two fated people." Nishino read what Sara wrote in her mobile and rem the last time he asked Mei if she believed in destiny. Mei had said yes. Nishino closed the phone.

Mei visited Nishino mum. the mum was surprised. Mami who also was visiting saw the scene from teh door. The mum said Nishino isnt back but Mei said no, presenting the flowers to her. The mum received it in shock.

The two went out to chat. Mami tagged behind and eavesdropped on the conversation. Mei shared she had received a letter from her dad and learnt the whole truth. Nishino mum said she had brought suffering to Mei while protecting her own happiness. "Really Sorry!!" Nishino mum bowed and apologised.

"Please dont say that. My mum indeed has passed away, so has my dad. But now I know I was born out of love, and I also have a very impt family now. I have someone I liked. He had once told me, when I was crying and unable to accept the truth, that the gods are always changing. Hence a person who can have his wish fulfilled is no different from the one who doesnt. He is a kind hearted person. More than he cared about himself, he cared more if the people around him are happy. You have given birth to him and raised him. You are his only mum. Hence to me, you are also someone very important to me. I do not hate anyone. Please look foward and live well. " Mei said kindly to Nishino mum who started to cry as she heard those words. (This is the scene that touched me so much yesterday...)

Nishino went back to the ward and spotted the flowers. He asked his mum who had returned after her meeting with Mei, as to who the visitor was. "It was Mei chan." Nishino was shocked.

"She said to me, I am someone very impt to her. She asked me to look forward and live on well. She is indeed a very marvellous girl. She looked at me ernestly and shared her inner thoughts. At-kun has always been a very patient boy since a child, always suppressing your own thoughts and supporting me. At-kun, thank you for letting me have a child like you." The tearing mum held his hands and expressed her gratitude. With understanding gained, Nishino left the room.

"Sensei I want to return to the rehab. I still have to trouble you. " Nishino mum told the visiting doctor whom expressed utmost support, and that he will help her all over again as she wished to quit seriously.

Simultaneouly, Nishino approached Mami sitting by herself. He told her candidly they had shared a similar fate as children, hence some words he can tell only her. " I think we are both very resilent. You are someone very important to me. However, I can never be the sort of important person you hope for in your heart. I'm sorry. " With that he turned to leave.

"Finally, You finally said the words in your heart. I am ok now. " Mami said. Nishino looked relieved at her understanding. With that he ran with all his might to chase after Mei, yelling for her. Mei turned around in surprise. "At Kun? What's wrong?" Nishino rushed to her and hugged her tightly.

"I... I have been lying to myself all these time. I keep telling myself, that it is for the best to split with you even if it means hurting you. Yet when you came to the cake shop on the 16th birthday, I was so overjoyed and happy at that time. I wanted to see a smiling Mei before me. Actually I... I have always liked you!!! "


To that heartfelt confession, Mei looked at him "Atkun, I believe in destiny." Mei smiled and said to him....


[ Ending scene:

Mei's family met up for meal that sat. The family seem to be on the mend."

Yuri and Natsu and baby girl happily took a family shot.

Sara went to uni and looked happy.

Mia joined as hair stylist apprentice.

Mami worked as a florist.

Nishino and Mei remained together. With a message fro 2012, Mei sent the sms asking after everyone. A picture of her holding Nishino's hand was sent. ]

Message from birthday girl & Akai Ito Ep 11

Isnt it exciting and I suppose most of the fans are anticipating Akai Ito Episode 11. So am i!!

Since it's my birthday too apart from Mei's and Nishino's (Yes!! It's my birthday!), I wont be sticking by my desk. I will blog about the summary after I have my fun hee heee. So check back again for the summary maybe tomorrow night instead ok?

Meanwhile, I'm going to go enjoy my birthday now:)

Quick Synopsis :
The last episode is pretty touching when Nishino's mum finally have a chance to have apologise and a chat to Mei..I almost teared. Mei is just so sweet. It's a happy ending and Nishino finally told Mami his true feelings but she said she is fine. Nishino ran after Mei and hugged her to confess he has always always liked her...Natsu and Yuri decided to keep the baby and they got married later showing a family of 3 with a happy girl. Mami later worked at a florist shop, Mia worked to be hair stylist assistant. Sara went on to uni. Nishino and Mei ended up as happy couple in the end.

Akai Ito Episode 10 Review (updated)

This week's episode is generally boring. Not much excitment till the last few minutes of the show when Nishino's mum finally appeared and saw Mei in person. Whoa!

A note from me (23 Feb)

I have completed the detailed summary as below and removed the condensed summary posted on Sunday. I cannot believe next week is last episode. Somehow, I feel like I havent had enough of Nishino. He doesnt seem to appear much comparing to Mei and Mia. Maybe it's just me... greedy guts.. haaa.

Akai Ito Episode 10 Summary


Sitting down with her stepparents, Mei's father revealed the agreement he had with his wife prior Mei's adoption - which was to ensure raising Mei to adulthood, and treating her no differently from their own daughter Haruna. "Yet no matter how hard I tried, I just couldnt do it. Hence the divorce isnt your mum nor Mei's fault. I'm sorry mei, especially when its your birthday..." Mei shook her head as she listened to her dad.

In the hospital, Nishino worriedly sat by a sleeping Mami while the doctor asked the shrine guy what is Mami's relationship with Nishino. The shrine guy revealed they are childhood friends and Mami's dad is also a drug junkie, and Nishino had saved her when she was being beaten by her dad. Understanding the situation, the doctor approached Nishino saying that it would be good to have a consultation session with Mami since the cause of her self muitilation (sucide) is unknown.

In school, Mei confided in Mia about Sara's sms wishing her happy birthday and wanting to have a chat. "I have returned a few sms but there was no reply." Mei said. "I see....since there is an sms, perhaps there is some sort of change? Could Sara have regained back her memories? At least she rem Mei's birthday right?" Mia deduced.

After Mami has awaken, she was in consultation session with the doctor accompanied by Nishino. When asked how is she feeling currently, Mami replied she felt nothing in particular except that she is here as Nishino asked her to come. "What do you think is the meaning of being here?" The doctor gently asked. "To guard that I do not slit my wrist again" Mami replied. (Note: "mihateru" or original form "miharu" has a few meaning such as "stand watch" but i choose to use "guard" as the closest in context here).

The doctor seemed amused by her choice of word "guard". He went on to add that self physical abuse is not a good thing, going on to query why did she slit her wrist. Not looking at anyone, Mami paused and replied she didnt know. Nishino while silent shows an inkling that he knew the cause.

After the session, both of them went to the aquarium. While Mami was all upbeat and happy, Nishino looked contrastingly opposite, lost in his own thoughts. She turned around and saw Nishino expression and asked him what was wrong. Jolt back to reality, Nishino smiled and said nothing. Self-deceiving cow seemed happy with that answer and asked to continue her stupid aquarium excursion (Aw man! She is sooo desperate !!!)

On the other hand, Yui met up with Mei and Mia and offered to treat them at their usual cafe. Mei jumped straight to the topic and asked Yui what is the matter. As Yui paused, Mia cheekily asked her to spit it out quick. To Mei's & Mia utter shock, Yuio revealed "I think I am pregnant... I AM pregnant! I went to the hospital yesterday. I am 4 months along." Mia expressed shock that Yui let it dragged for so long! "I thought it was only "maybe". Well I was hoping it was all a mistake. I was afriad to go to the hospital. I couldnt muster my courage." Yui confessed miserably.

"I understand how you feel. Hve you told Natsu?" Mei asked with concern. "We agreed to meet this sat, but i did not tell him I had gone to the hospital." Yui said. "You HAVE to tell him!" Mia said. "Dont make it sound so simple!!! If I were to mention it, the relationship will definitely change! I may be dumped!" Yui said with much confused exasperation. "Now is not the time to say such things! You are already 4 months along! You have to consider about your body!" Mei said. "What's there to consider? I will probably abort it." Yui said as she sounded like she was convincing herself. "Dont say it with such certainty! if it's me, I would keep the child." Mia jumped in. "Give birth to it?! How is that possible?!!! Iam only 16yrs old!!! I would not suddenly be mature just because I have a baby!!" Yui expressed her horror when Mei and Mia was stunned into silence.

As Mia and Mei walked home by themselves, they both expressed their concerns about Yui to each other. Mei shared that she simply didnt know what to say and wondered if Yui would be able to talk to Natsu about it. Just then, they were interrupted by Miyabi calling out to them. Miyabi was commenting that both of them had gone on to high school, and when asked what she was doing now, Miyabi was interrupted by the guys punching their victim (drug peddler who lost the drugs). She tried to intervene for the guy but was grabbed by her hair and shoved to the ground, being told "Do u know what happens when the "thing" is lost?" Before the dude left, he warned his victim he will be dead meat the next time his drugs lot lost. As Miyabi took leave, both the girls look at her with concern.

Meanwhile, Nishino was sharing with teh doctor that mami seemed to have adapted to her new life at the shrine. While the doctor shared that she only comes here because of Nishino, he quickly added that it was Nishino's mum that he wanted to talk about. the doctor queried if Nishino was still unable to bring his mum to the hospital. "Yes. After that day, mum didnt leave home one step. She probably feels too ashamed to see sensei, hence didnt have courage to come."Nishino replied. "Your mum's feeling of guilt has probably multiplied after lying to you. Her unease will only result in more negative thoughts. There are cases where patients have lost their lives in similar cases. Nishino kun, you have to watch over your mum, and care for her" The doctor solemnly shared. Nishino looked concerned and replied he will.

At the night club, the drug guy was chiding the young dude that he wasnt running a charity (over the drugs) and he was pinning his hopes on the young chap since he look promising. Hence the drug guy told the young chap not to disappoint him.

Back at the shrine place, Nishino shared news that he will be working at a gas station during the time his mum is in recovery. Mami expressed disappointment that he wasnt going to be visiting at the shrine with her as such. "No such thing. I will try to visit here whenever I can" Nishino tried to ease her mind. (Poor nishino, another leech to make him worry). While the spineless bitch dazed off in utter silent devastation, the shrine guy noticing her expression interjected that he would help to look after Nishino's mum and asked Nishino to ask him for any help. The shrine guy turned to Mami and asked her for agreement. Only then did the selfish self absorbed cow nodded her head. She turned around to look at Nishino with her sad fat face. Nishino just smiled and nodded at her, before looking solemn again (prob thinking shit, now she is becoming my responsibility too?!)

while Nishino was hard at work, his mum was holed up at home doing nothing except puffing away. Looking for her lighter, she saw the album taken with Mei and her mum. When he returned, his mum started blabbling " You and Mei shared the same birthday. You are both schoomates. What kind of destiny is this?" Nishino asked why is she saying this. "If I'm not around, you can be with Mei right? To have a mum like me..." Nishino interrupted her and said he has never thought that way, before cheerfully switching topic saying the doc is worried about her and he would accompny her to the hospital. His mum ignored him.

Moving to Yui and Natsu. The atmosphere was tense. Yui started saying she had gone to the hospital. Natsu asked how was it. "As expected..." Natsu lowered his head in depression. Seeing his expression, Yui lied and said it was a mistake. Natsu immediately looked relived and happy again, saying "OMG! It's great! I was so worried! I couldnt even pay attention while playing soccer. I must be scared to death. Now that I can sigh a relief, I am getting hungry." Yui asked with concern "if , what if , the results showed that I am pregnant?" "If? How is that possible? We are just high school students, how could we be able to raise it. Moreever, our life ahead has only just started. What's more, I would be slaughtered by my parents if they knew about it." Natsu babbled on while choosing his food, totally oblivious to Yui's expression and increasing sadness. Yui struggled to sound in agreement. However, she couldnt hold back her tears and Natsu saw as he lifted his head. Yui ran out of the cafe, leaving a stunned Natsu sitting there only to stir when the staff barked at him. Natsu gave chase.

Mei met up with his sister. Haruna asked outright if Mei had gone out on her birthday. Mei told the sister everything from their 16th birthday promise, to the meeting with Nishino at the cake shop which they had met for the first time. Haruna said it was great that he remembered! Mei said she was really happy. Mei also shared what Nishino had said to her about every meeting has a meaning to it.

Back to Natsu who had caught up with Yui. Yui angrily told Natsu she finally understand everything, about how he always only care about himself, and asked him to leave her alone as such and not bother with her. It finally dawned on Natsu that Yui was really pregnant. "this is my own decision. Before even thinking about your parents' reaction, your own future, or issue with raising the child, couldnt you have at least worry about me one bit? Initially, I had wanted you to give it more thoughts, hoping you would consider more about the matter of the two of us. However it is enough, your life no longer consists of me. " With that outburst, Yui ran off. Nishino who happen to pass by saw the two.

Alone, Natsu confided to Nishino that Yui is pregnant and how he had been relieved when she said it was a scare, and said a lot of hurting things to her. he admitted she was right, that he had only thought about himself. Nishino what is going to happen next. Natsu said he would go and apologise to Yui but Nishino interrupted he was asking about after the baby is born. Natsu said it was impossible to be parents since they are only high school students, its impossible. "I see. However Natsu. To be irresponsible and have a child, only to say later it's impossible, even with thoughts to raise the kids, but with your half baked thoughts, it will only trouble and bring more unfortune in the future for the child. A child has no choice over who their parents are." Nishino solemnly reprimanded Natsu off and walked off.

Meanwhile, Yui narrated the events to Mei, asking Mei to accompany her to hospital (for abortion). While Mei said it is fine with her but is Yui really alright with such a decision? "Yes. Having this child will definitely be regrettavle. A child that is born without the parents looking fwd to it, will definitely not be happy." Yui said. Hearing that, Mei told Yui to seriously have another talk with Natsu. She also corrected Yui's thought that it aint true about her views about the child will be unfortunate.

That night, Mei asked her mum why did she choose to adopt her. Her mum replied because she is a child of her birth parents. At that time, her father did not have a stable job, hence her mum's parents had objected to their relationship. Their life was very tough but after Mei's birth...people always become real parents after having their own child. "So, because you are their child, which is why I tried my best to raise u like my own child with Haruna. However, I had caused u to have unhappy memories. Maybe as your father had said, we never really became your parents. " her mum said with a sigh. "It;s not true. I will not change. Mum, thank you for raising me up to now." Mei said and consoled her mum.

While they were out, Mia spotted Miyabi and the drug people "at work" again at the same spot. Mia stormed up to Miyabi and dragged her aside, lecturing her that she should stop even if she was feeling alone without the care and concerns from her parents. The fact that they both shared the same plight of having parents who didnt care, Mia said she could somewhat understand Miyabi's feeling that it's painful not to have parental love, but continuing on with those people...." Miyabi cut off Mia shouting what is wrong with those people, saying they are like friends to her. Mia said if they are true friends, they can remain so even without drugs. Miyabi brushed her off as being naggy. At this point, mei told Miyabi that Mia had always been worried about Miyabi. Miyabi threw a glance at Mia without saying a word. Then, the whole drug transaction was busted by police and the 3 girls ran for their life away from the cops.

At home, Nishino discovered a missing mum and photo's strewned all over. Worried, he called the shrine guy and they both headed out to find his mum. Mami the nosy pig ran after the shrine guy asking if it was Nishino and if he was alright., The shrine guy told her not to worry and stay at home, and he will call her and dashed off. At this point, Mami was approached by Sara asking for Nishino!

At the club, they were clearing out all the drugs from the club. Miyabi while running tripped and spilled the drugs. As she was picking them up, Mia told her to leave it and not to bother. However Miyabi told them to leave as it doesnt concern them. Without a word, mei and Mia went to help her, much to Miyabi's shock. Hearing the sirens, they ran again when done picking up the stuff.

Miyabi, Mei and Mia reached the night club. The young dude asked what was she doing back there. Miyabi said they had no where to go since there were cops all over. He yelled at her and also asking who are mei and Mia. To Mia and Mei's surprise, Miyabi declared they are her friends. the guy relented and let them into the club where Mei saw everything. Just then, Nishino and the shrine guy appeared at the club.

Inside, Nishino was shocked to see Mei and Mia. The night club drug guy said they are busy and for Nishino to hurry up to say what he wanted to ask. Nishino outright asked where was his mum. "you are looking for your mum again? Come to think of it, my thigh is still hurting!" The shrine guy stepped in asking if she has been here and the drug guy said she hasnt been here for a while. The shrine guy asked what is the drug guy asking the kids to do. The drug guy luaghed saying that the shrine guy sounded so righteous but upon digging, wont he too have some secrets? The shrine guy replied he is repenting in his own ways, and he is not interested in advicing / lecturing someone who refused to mend his ways. At that, he turned and said that Mei and Mia are not suitable to linger here and to leave. Mei and Mia didnt budge. Nishino spoke and asked if she really isnt here? The guy said yeah. With that, Nishino turned and said "Mei, let;s go."

Just as Mei was leaving, someone suddenly called her. She stopped. Nishino turned around and asked his mum asking why. asking her to also return. Completely ignoring him, the mum ambled towards Mei, not taking her eyes off for a minute as memories of the past flooded through her mind. She recalled how she had went to Mei's apartment to apologise to Mei's birth mum, only to discover in despair that the mum had killed herself while Mei was screaming her lungs off in the cot bed. Nishino mum tearfully carried a screaming Mei in her arms.

Back to reality, "Mei Chan? You are really mei chan?" Nishino mum asked her. Mei nodded and said yes. Nishino looked on worriedly at the scene before him as his mum stare on at a questioning Mei.

Afterthhoughts
I think Mei is the key to Nishino's mum's recovery. All the poor woman needed is a chance to say sorry and be forgiven. She never got that chance from Mei's parents so she is so racked by guilt. If Mei being the sweet girl she is can say it's ok and she is happy all these years with her stepmum, I think Nishino's mum will stand a chance. Mei will be the only person who can fuel Nishino's mum to truly abandon drug addiction I think....

Just a flashing thought, as for Mami, actually I am surprise she bears no grudges at all towards Nishino's mum for causing his dad's drug addiction. is that a normal reaction consideirng she saw with her own eyes when she trailed her father. I don't know. If Nishino is not such a hottie, she prob would I guess. Ha ha. As for Yui and Fuji, they wont part I am sure.

Ok, enough of my babbling, time to watch Akai Ito Episode 10!

Akai Ito Ep 09 Review

Sorry I got back late! For those who had been waiting forever, I have finished the summary for this episode! Enjoy the video and recap!

It's good episode but not one with climax for me after last week rollercoaster of emotions. Here, Mei finally learned her birth identity from her mum and she was even more shocked to receive an sms from Sara on her birthday!!! Next week will be better when Nishino mum finally meet Mei! Stupid Mami tried to kill herself in this episode but never die. Darn...how nice of her to try to kill herself on Nishino's birthday. Dumb lass.





Akai Ito Episode 09 Summary

After Taka's funeral, the group was still discussing how strange it feels to not have Taka joining in anymore. Seeing Nishino's departing figure, Mei told Mia to go ahead first and chased after Nishino. She asked Nishino to please tell her what exactly did Taka and him talked about in their last conversation. Nishino honestly told Mei that Taka had said that he thought he would be able to replace Nishino but it was impossible. "He was so silly to still be concerned about things between me and you." Nishino said. He then smiled weakly and added "We are obviously over.", before turning to leave.

Time fast forward, it was cold Feb. While heading to high school together, Mia suggested to Mei that the old classmates should get together to celebrate her birthday.

On the other hand at the shrine, Taka's dad handed Nishino an envelope, which contain Taka's belonging. The dad told Nishino that since he is Taka's good friend, he will entrust this belonging for Nishino to handle it. When Nishino looked at the content, it was a shrine "wishing" board that Taka had written before - wishing that Mei would be his girlfriend. Mami saw the exchange and asked about who Taka was. Nishino explained Taka had been his ex classmate and died in accident last year. Mami saw the wishing board message just before Nishino was going to burn it and asked Nishino if Taka and Mei had been a couple? Nishino honestly replied yes. Mami persisted and told Nishino that she is able to understand all his feelings and he should share with her what happen since she knew how it feels like to lose someone impt. Innocent Nishino honestly told Mami that Taka had met with him before he died, and was also waiting for Mei. However, Taka did not even get to see Mei one last time before he met with the accident. Nishino also revealed to Mami that Taka had said that an invisible bond (Akai Ito) is binding him and Mei together. "He cared about Mei so much, and yet he left this world with such a misudnerstanding." Hearing Nishino said that, Mami was troubled and uneasy.

Next, Mami tried to pry more information from Yui. Yui confirmed that Mei did go out with Taka for a while before his death. Without knowing Mami's intention, Yui happily revealed that it happens to be Mei's birthday this month, on the 29th Feb. Mami was shocked to learn about that! "29 feb" Mami muttered to herself. With those information, Mami went to Mei's school and looked for a surprised Mei.

In the cafe, Mami kept talking and digging up the past. She told Mei she had heard from Nishino about how nice Taka was to her, and how he had died, and how Mei must be feeling very lonely now. She then went on to ask if Mei's birthday is on 29th feb, and isnt it nice to share the same birthday as Nishino, one that comes once every 4 years. After a min pause, Mami continued
"However, I always feel that Nishino and I share a invisible bond, so...."

Before Mami could finish with her nonsense, Mei finally cut her off saying "Things between me and Nishino are over. It's already over." Mami finally shut up.

Between Nishino and his mum, she was excitedly talking about his birthday and how to celebrate it. "Did you think I had forgotten? Such an imot thing to Nishino, how can I forget about it!" The mum happily chatted on and played with Nishino's hair. "Seeing no reply from Nishino, the mum continued to ask if Nishino had dated some girls to celebrate with him. Nishino smiled and said no one. So the mum suggested to celebrate at home after her work. However after Nishino left, the mum did not go to work but headed to the park to have a smoke.

Mei's mum who had spotted her, introduce herself to Nishino's mum. Mei;s mum said she had a question to ask and that is why did Mei;s father died after being arrested. Even though he was arrested for the drugs, she just cannot understand the mystery of his death. Nishino's mum who was already stunned to see her, avoided the question and said why is she bringing up such an old topic. Mei's mum pressed on, asking if she is aware that Nishino and Mei are classmate?Nishino mum was shocked!

"Nishino is an upright kid who is gentle in nature, a very fantastic boy. Which is precisely why I think is what Mei likes about him. However when I knew about them being together, I couldnt not interfere, hence I requested them to go seperate ways. "Natsumi san, please. Take it as its for them, please tell me the truth!" Nishino mum remained quiet and walked away.

On her own, she had flashback of Nishino previous conversation with her, asking her to tell him the truth since the mum of the girl he liked asked him to split with the girl. At that time, she bumped into the drug guy.

When she was alone with Nishino, Mami revealed that she had looked up Mei few days ago. Nishino asked why. "Whatever I said before is for real, I definitely was not lying." Mami replied. Nishino paused to look at her with a serious look. Mami continued" I really want to stay by your side, to go through hard times together. I cannot continue to live on without Nishino. Am i not qualified to spend your birthday together with you?" Nishino replied after a second pause "Mami, let's celebrate together." The spineless bitch was overjoyed.

At home, Mei recalled all the times she had spent with Taka as she stare at the couple shot they took together.

When it was Mei's birthday, the group celebrated together. Mia told her exbf she is now with a great bf but it is none of his biz. The conversation went back to the cultural festival day they had in school and the conversation came to a pause when Sara's name was mentioned and they wondered if she is ok now. As they chatted on, Fuji suggested to visit Taka's tomb.

At the cemetry, the guys chatted to the tomb. Fuji asked Mei if the voice mail she was listening to in the hospital that night was from Taka, and asked what was the content. Mei said that many things had happened between them, and revealed that Taka had apologised about always thinking about himself, and that they should return as friends as they were in junior high..

"I know all of you are worried and I should move on. But I have to do something for Taka chan, Istill want to spend a little more time with him, I still think that way." Mei shared.

"You need not intentionally forget, you can still remem forever, your memories of him will now be your strength," Fuji said. "Yes, I believe that wouyld be what Taka want." Mia said. "So it is, perhaps so." Mei said with a smile.

At home, Nishino received a call from the rehab centre, saying the doctors are worried. Nishino asked isnt the treatment over? The nurse replied no, the mum had lied someone at home had passed over.

At the cafe, Mami appeared and tld the guy she is celebrating Nishino's birthday with him. The staff said, oh the rest just celebrated Mei's birthday here earlier.

At home, Mei heard her parents arguing. The father said that things between them should be seperated from Mei's matters. Mei's mum told the sister that her parents are getting seperatred. Their father revealed they cannot shared the same values anymore and they are drifting apart and its irrepairable. The mum said she had one more matter to share. The father tried to stop her but the mum said they are old enough now to handle it. The mum told mei, I am not your real mum. Mei was shocked!

Nishino found his drugged high mum at the club. "Oh Nishino is here to pick me up!" The guy said to Nishino. "Dont misunderstand. I did not contact your mum." Nishino dragged and told the mum to leave. "Even if she leave now, she will return." the man said confidentally. "You have destroyed her whole life, and all the people's lives around." Nishino told him.

"What? It's a sucky life to begin with. It is the drugs that helped them forget." The man told Nishino. He continued to provoke Nishino adding "Say such things after you know what your parents are thinking about. If you have no child, your life would be so much easier right Natsumi?" Nishino was in shock and the mum turned around and told him to stop. " Didnt you keep saying it? How nice it would be if this child was not born." The man said and the mum screamed at him to stop. "Dont you understand? The person your mum wants to live with is me, not you." The man coolly told Nishino. In rage of fury, Nishino stab the guy's leg with a fork before storming off.

Mei's mum started to reveal the begining of Mei and Nishino childhood since they were young, and how she had been living in the same building as Nishino when they were young. She also told mei about her dad arrested for drugs, but reemphasis that both her parents were never involved in drugs. "However your mum had chosen in desperation to abandon you and left this world. Which is why till this day, I can never forgive Natsumi san.It was me who told Nishino to leave you. However, after hearing the account from me, Nishino said nothing, just nod his head. Sorry Mei. It was not his fault. Mei, Do u like Nishino?" The mum asked.

That night, Haruna went to Mei's room and said she would follow her dad since he doesnt know how to do anything and would be a sorry state to live alone. "What will happen to us?" Mei asked. "Even if we leave apart, we will still be a family. So dont worry. But I have something to say about Nishino. Eveb if mum said all that because of Mei, but its up to Mei to decide." Haruna said seriously to Mei.

At the cafe, Mami continued to wait and the staff said isnt Nishino a little slow. Mami decided to call Nishino. However, the line was engaged as Nishino mum called him exactly that moment.
Mami unable to reach Nishino was devastated.

"At-kun? I'm sorry, I lied to u. At kun, its obvious u like mei but it was me who cause you two to part. I'm truly sorry. Mum will not give u more trouble from now on. "The mum said. "Its ok, please come back soon. I will wait for u." Nishino said to her. Nishino passed the board and reread Mei's message about her wish for his mum recovery and about how being with him halve her troubles and double her happiness.

At the same time, Mei, she recalled Taka's last words about the person she need to see and talk to is not Taka but Nishino. Mei also rem Nishino's words asking if she believed in destiny. That night, Mei went out.

On the shrine board, there was also another of Mei's message was wishing it would snow on their birthday.

Mei arrived at the cake shop, looking around but not seeing Nishino. That night, it really snowed. Shortly just round the corner, Nishino arrived at the same spot.

"You are late." Mei said to him. "So u did rem our date promise. Are u fine Nishino?"
"Not really" he replied
"Why didnt you tell me? No matter what happened, No matter what you tell me, I would always believe in you." Mei said.

Hearing that, Nishino rushed forward and hugged her.

"Can we still meet again?" Mei asked.
"Mei, a person will meet 3million people from day they will be born till they die. In between, 300o in school and work. Perhaps 300 people for those who get on really well. We had said before, within those people, regardless if its Taka, Sara, you or me, we are all destined together. I have learned something impt from Mei. So I believe no matter how far apart we are, there must be a reason to our meeting." Nishino said.

"At-kun, Happy Birthday." Mei said. At that, she sadly sucked in her breathe, and said By bye to Nishino. They both parted ways.

On her way back, Mei received an sms.
"Happy birthday Mei. I have things to say to you. Sara"

Nishino made his way to the cafe and apologised to Mami was being late. However to his shock, he found that she had slit her own wrist.

Akai Ito Ep08 Review

OMG! This has got to be one of the saddest episode ever, even more than the one where Nishino chosen to part ways with Mei. I cant wait for the ending... please please please let Mei at least end up with Nishino.

I felt really really sad. My heart was almost aching for Mei when she started crying towards the end. my feeling towards Taka also changed at the end.

Akai Ito Episode 8 Summary

The ep again starts time rewind, with Mei's birth mother Machiko and her best friend (Mei's current mum) , discussing about Mei's father. Mei's mum mentioned the father has changed since Mei's birth. Mei's current mother said that it was truly unexpected that he would suddenly take off from home...but Mei's bith mum interrupted and said " I believe in him." At this point, Nishino's mum appeared and they started chatting with Mei's birth mum offering to look after Nishino while she goes to work that night. That was also the first time Mei's current mother was introduced to Nishino's mum. Mei's current mum also met Nishino for he first time and Nishino's mum commented that "both toddler Nishino and Mei are already very good friends currently."

That night at the night club, the drug peddler ask Nishino mum to meet him after work, saying she is the only one he can entrust the task to.

Back to present day.
Nishino was discussing his mum's condition with the doctor. Nishino said his mum mentioned she is ready to live on her own now, so that Nishino can start to give priority to his own life. Nishino happily shared that she now has many friends and appear to pass her days normally, adding "This is the first time I have seen my mum so energetic!" However, the doctor replied while she is heading in the right direction, but being that this is the 4th time she is in drug rehab, with past history of running away from hospital, the doctor warned that Nishino's mum may be experiencing a stage where she no longer really care about herself. The doctor reminded Nishino not to forget the road to recovery is a long long one. Nishino said he understood and thanked the doctor.

At that moment, was where Taka first raised his hand and slapped Mei. (repeat scene from prev ep)

At home, sensing something is wrong, Haruna brought pudding to Mei's room and tried to find out what was wrong. Using her friend as a conversational example, Mei consulted her sister about the the problem of having a violent boyfriend, and that "her friend" was at loss as to what to do. Haruna told Mei directly that any man who resorted to violence against his partner is definitely the worse kind. Mei quickly jumpoed to defence saying that she knew the guy and he is infact a very gentle kind guy. However Haruna insisted regardless of any excuses or reasoning can condone such an act of violence at all, then Haruna suspiciously asked Mei is she was the victim but Mei lied and replied of course not!

The next day, Takashi sms Mei and apologised for his actions, stating that it was because he cherish those moments with her too much, and he was overcome with shock by wha she had said about not meeting every day. Just as Mei saw his message, a very depressed Mia cried out to Mei.

She told Mei that she had broken up, and was dumped as her bf had fallen for someone in his school. He told her that it was indeed a different feeling being with a good friend, and a girl he liked. As class was to start, mei told Mia she would chat more after school and hear her story. mei sms Taka if it is ok not to meet that day as Mia is depressed over her relationship.


Taka replied sms Mei that he had something important to tell her and that she must meet him. However when she arrived, she discovered Taka had tricked her. His very important matter was simply a trival thing which is asking her what they should do on weekend. A surprisedMei asked "that's it?" Taka got indignant and said that is a very important thing, proposing they should go watch a movie. While Mei concede to his request, she couldnt resist telling Taka, "Taka chan, I like to meet Mia tomorrow. "

Taka got upset again and said sternly to Mei "You value Mia more than me." and started to storm off. A flustered Mei chased after Taka trying to explain "Taka chan, Mia is a very important friend! When she is feeling low, I would like to keep her company, to seriously hear her problems out." Taka at this point grabbed Mei fiercely on her arm and said "I THINK WE AGREED TO MEET EVERYDAY!" At that, he dragged her off to a quiet side street. While grabbing her at both arms, he slamed her back to a wall and yelled at her " Don't make any promises if you are NOT able to keep it!!! " With that, he grabbed her and threw her angrily onto the road. Being thrown completely off guard, Mei completely fell against the row of bicycles parked there. Taka looked at a fallen Mei and yelled her sadly and in much angst "I want to believe in you!!!But why just couldnt you allow me to believe in you!?!" A completely raging Taka acted out his anger by further kicking a metal sign board next to him....

The scene changed to Taka walking in front and Mei following quietly behind. Taka turned around and said "Sorry." and continued walking. "Please dont say such things anymore. We did make a promise, which it is to meet one hour daily, even if it is short time, but it should be something that both should treasure alot right?" Taka said ernestly to Mei. Mei looked at his face but said nothing. Taka continued " I shall not go to school tonight. Let us be together!" Mei still didnt say anything but forced a weak smile as a reply, and followed him from behind quietly.
On the other hand, Mia was disappointed to receive Mei's sms that they couldnt meet that day. Miyabi that drug girl saw Mia sitting alone at the playground and approached her, asking Mia to join for fun that day. Miyabi brougher Mia to the night club and Mia saw everyone there taking drug. Miyabi offered Mia a small toy, and showed her the hidden drugs in the toy. Mia asked what was it. Miyabi explained it was Esctasy and that it make everything painful go away, encouraging a Mia to try it. When Mei reached home and tried to call Mia, no one answered the phone and was diverted to voice mail. Mei left a message for Mia to call her regardless what time. We see Mia's phone ringing unattended on the club table, with Mia no where in sight. Next day, Mei went to Mia's class looking for her but her classmate told her she was on leave.


Meanwhile, Mami met up with Nishino and said she has a place to bring him for lunch. To his surprise it was the cafe Nishino use to hang out alot with his classmates. Inside, Yui and Fuji were surprised to see Nishino and greeted him warmly. As they chatted, Fuji exclaimed surprised that it was Mia who got dumped instead of the reverse. Yui shared that Mei was worried about Mia and had been frantically looking everywhere for Mia. Fuji also said he would check with Mia's exbf to find out more details but was diverted to voice mail, so Fuji demanded that he return his call immediately.

WHile everyone was looking deflated and worried in silence, Mami said "Everyone's relationship with each other is good. Despite being in high school, you are still worried about friends from junior high. I do not have such friends. I envy you guys." Nishino looked at her and no one said anything to her statement. At that point, a worried Mei walked into the cafe, and was shocked to see Nishino. Yui asked if Mia has been found and they found out that she was there before arguing with her bf.

Walking to school, Mia was told by another schoolmate that Mia had been spotted with Miyabi. The schoolmate told Mei that it is quite worrying as Mia' companions have bad reputation. Mei listened on with increasing worry.

That eve at 5pm, Taka waited anxiously as before for Mei but she did not appear. He tried calling her but couldnt reach her in person. Mei was in fact frantically looking everywhere for Mia at places she was last seen.

That eve, while he was walking home alone, it was Mia who spotted Nishino and called out to him happily (or groggily from drugs). Nishino was surprised and Mia continued ranting that Nishino didnt bother to call anyone from old days, and why was he being so etc etc.... Nishino took a glance at Mia's company. The drug groupies inclding Miyabi recognised Nishino and took off without a word. Nishino asked Mia "Are you taking drugs? Your pupils are dilated." Mia tried to deny. Nishino spotted the toy penguin (stuffed drug toy) and demanded angrily "What is this?!" Mia tried to deny again saying it was nothing. "Those people will hide the drugs in the toy and peddle the drugs this way right?" Nishino sternly asked Mia. Mia kept quiet guilty. AT that Mei spotted Mia and called and ran to her, surprised to see Nishino as well.

While walking, Mia complained and ask Mei and Nishino not to bother about her. "It's nothing. Stop kicking up a fuss! I only consume a little." Mei replied that Mia isnt this sort of person but Mia retorted that she is EXACTLY this sort of person and so to leave her alone. "No its not good like this." Mei added with concern but Mia brushed her hands off yelling "Stop being so noisy! I'm hurting inside as things have come to this." Mia turned away from Mei and added "Mitsu' has someone he likes, so i figure if i eat this, I will forget everything." Mei told Mia she was sorry that she didnt have a chance to listen to her problems properly. "but even if you ate those pills, it will solve nothing. If this goes on, Mia would be unsavable!" Mei added worriedly. Nishino looked at the scene silently and sadly, with much inner thoughts. At this point, Taka who had been searching for Mei spotted them.

"I wont eat anymore. I promise you." Mia said to Mei.
"I believe you." Mei replied happily.
"I definitely will NOT eat them again, so please do not worry. I have only consume 2-3 times, so I can rid the habit easily." Mia said to Mei.

At that point, Nishino interrupted and solemnly said "Will definitely eat them again." A surprised Mei and Mia turned around to look at him. "Everyone always think they will be alright. This is not an issue of trust!" Nishino added. Mia looked down with a guitly expression. "Why are you so certain? Why couldnt you be more understanding about what has happened to her, and how she might be feeling now? What she is going through is not something that everyone can think it through" Mei angrily retorted Nishino.

"I am saying this has nothing to do with Mia's will power! There are many things in this world, where your will power alone is not enough!!" Nishino replied agitatedly. "Perhaps it is so! but i believe in Mia!! Because she said she wont take the drugs anymore." Mei replied. Seeing how determined Mei looked, Nishino did not try to convince her otherwise and merely said "Jya. (bye)", turned around and left.

After Nishino left, Taka who had been looking on at the whole exchange, slowly walked towards Mei and Mia. As he walk up the steps from behind, he angrily threw his bag to the ground. Mei turned around and saw him. As Mei started to say "Taka chan, Sor.." Taka angrily slapped her on her face before she couldnt finished.

"You, did you know how many calls I made to you?!!!!" Tak angrily yelled at Mei and grabbed her shoulders shaking her. Nishino turned around at the commotion. He saw Taka angrily shoved Mei against the metal railings while yelling at her "How could I ever trust you?!!" and slapped her heavily across the face. "Oh How could I ever trust you?" Taka yelled again and rained his slaps on Mei repeatedly across her face, and punched Mei at her tummy yelling for Mei to say something! Mia in shock yelled at Taka to stop! Seeing Mei being physically abused, Nishino sprinted across the road without a sec delay!

Nishino grabbed Taka from behind and yelled at him while steering Taka away from Mei "Taka what exactly are you doing?!!!" "It has nothing to do with you! Dont interfere in our matters!" An angry Taka replied him while trying to free himself from Nishino's grip. Taka grabbed Nishino's collar with both his hands and shouted at Nishino "Dont interfere!" Nishino emotionally shouted back "How can I not interfere?!!" and raised his fist to punch Taka right in his face!!

As Taka landed onto the floor, Mei got up from where she had doubled over earlier, and run towards Taka while yelling at Nishino "This has nothing to do with At-kun!" Mei run and kneeled infront of Taka, fending Taka from Nishino. Nishino looked at her in shock!

Mei Tearfully repeated and yelled at Nishino, spilling out her heart "This has nothing to do with you. When everyone was pointing their fingers at me and scolding me, when I was feeling all alone, it was Taka chan who was by my side. The one who had helped me was not you At-kun, but Taka chan! At this moment, dont be so self righteous about things you say!" Nishino looking almost tearful, stared on at Mei filled with emotions, while Taka looked alittle remorseful hearing what Mei said. Mei continued to tearfully glare at Nishino. Overcome by what mei said, Nishino walked away without a word.

Mami who was suppose to have dinner with her friend, spotted a depressed Nishino walking alone, and abandon her friend making excuse she has to go somewhere. She ran after Nishino and called to her, asking him what was wrong. A surprised Nishino said nothing. She said he was lying, always shouldering all his problems alone, and he can tell her all his problems anytime, no matter what, she would always understand him. Nishino just said thank you to her and that he would send her home without further adding any details. He turned from where he was heading and started walking ahead without waiting for Mami to say a word. A disappointed and dissatisfied Mami turn around and ran after Nishino, hugging him from the back, much to a completely bewildered Nishino. "I meant it." Mami said while still holding him from the back. Nishino looked emotionally distraught and didnt reply her but neither did he make any attempt to move to reciprocate her hug. Instead, he looked like he gave a silent troubled sigh.


Back at the store, Taka's father greeted him. He asked Taka to help him with the curry. He told him cooking curry require patience and small flame, not to be impatient. While not knowing his problems, His father was trying to use the curry as an analogy to advise Taka in ways of life indirectly.


Meanwhile in the room, Mia apologised and also asked Mei, why things couldnt return to the way as before?

The next day before school, Mei went to look for Taka at his father's shop. She called out to a surprised Taka " hey Taka-chan, I too would like to spend our days happily with Taka chan in the future, we made a promise to be always together, so can u believe in me? I believe in you. That's all." Mei smiled brightly at Taka who was surprised by what he heard.

Taka pondered for a while and paused. he seemed to come to a realisation and thought things through. He run out of the store and yelled after Mei, asking her to wear her Yuta and meet at 5pm at the shrine for some celebration. Mei happily agreed. Taka happily waved goodbye to Mei, and stare at her departing figure.

At the shrine celebration, Taka met up with Nishino. Taka playfully slapped Nishino on his hand and said jokingly "Hey, since you are back, you could have at least contact me! you idiot!" Nishino acknowledged Oh, sorry.

"It's alright. I just have a question to ask. Why did you part with Mei? What happened? What was the reason?" Taka asked calmly as a friend. Nishino stonily replied "Lost the feeling. Normally will hence end the relationship right." "Stop liking her? You truly doesnt know how to lie. " Taka said in jest. "I'm not lying" Nishino said.

"Before, Mei had said that it was me who had helped her when she was down, saying such things, it is unlike Mei to be so angry, truth is, she is desperately trying her best to like me. I thought I could replace you easily, but I was unable to. At the School Bunka festival, I had overheard your conversation with Mei back then in the classrooom. From that time onwards, I have already felt that there must be something between you and Mei, how do I say it, a destiny that is invisible to the eye, it's akai ito (the red thread of destiny)." Taka said and look thoughtful. Nishino looked away in silence. "After being beaten by you, that is what I thought. Wow! This person still likes Mei! I am unclear as to what had happened. Isnt it only you the only person who can give Mei happiness? Today Mei is also here." Nishino looked at Taka uncertainly. Meanwhile Mei was in Yuta looking for Taka in the crowd. Taka looked at Nishino face to face with a peaceful look on his face. Nishino replied " Even for liking, there are times where one could be helpless to do anything." With that he walked off. Taka tried calling Mei but she did not answered and was diverted to voice mail.

Taka walked on as he talked on his phone. Nishino leaned against the tree alone, and pondered about his earlier conversation with Taka. Taka ended his call, and heaved a relief smile and started to cross the road.

A car honked.
A startled footstep.
A broken glass.
Mei turned around.
Nishino looked up.
A man hurriedly walked through the crowd exclaiming a traffic accident, involving a guy student has occured.
Mei heard and followed the crowd, rushed towards the scene.
Her eyes widen in shock at the scene before her.

Taka's bag was lying on the floor.
Nishino' who was running to the scene, saw and yelled "TAKA!!!"
Taka's mobile was lying on the floor, next to a pool of blood.
Ambulance sirens.

At the hospital. Nishino and Mei were alone.
Nishino explained to Mei: "That guy, what was he trying to do? He sms me to meet at the shrine at 5pm. As usual, looking hurried and trying to be strong. Really hasnt changed. Taka wants me to meet you. Such a thing...." Nishino was interrupted by the arriving rest of the exclassmates, asking how was Taka. The doctor came out. Taka's father came out and apologised for worrying the rest. He said his son was such an idiot, so unfillia, truly unfillial, being so unfillial to depart before his parents. The group was left in shock and sobbing in grieve.

While waiting at the lounge, Mei suddenly rem to check her mobile. She saw the last voice message Taka had left for her. She hurriedly played the recorded message.

"Mei, I apologised for everything up till now. I have no confidence. Studpily only thinking about myself. Mei I have made u suffered. I am truly an idiot. You must have reached the shrine? I understand now, the person you need to see, to talk it through clearly isnt me, it's Nishino. I am very happy being with you, extremely blessed. However, the person who can give you happiness isnt me." Nishino turned to look at Mei who had been listening to the phone quietly. Mei started to tear as she listened on. "Mei, thank you for liking me. (at this Mei recalled the last scene where Taka had cheerfully waved goodbye to her the last time) From now on, let's return to being friends like we once were back in junior high, just normal friends!" Mei started sobbing at the end of the message...

The story starts with how Mei and Mia became friends during the first year in junior high in Spring.

During first day of school, Mia arrived in shocking bleach white short hair, totally ignoring everyone including the teacher behaving much like a problem student. As such, she was sent to the disciplinary teacher where it was also the first time she met Kamiya.

When Mia returned to classroom dispassionately, she was surprised to find Mei waiting for her. On the pretext of showing Mia where the rest of the class had went to, Mei indirectly extended a hand of friendship, much to the joy of Mia.

Back to present day, Mia arrived late while Mei and the rest of the group were waiting at the shrine. It was day of exam for high school and they gathered together to write their wishes to the god. While everyone else wrote about hoping to pass junior high school exam, Takashi refused to show the rest what he had written. The shrine guy appeared wishing them luck and also informing them that Nishino who had transferred to another school is also working hard for the exam, working towards a high school.

In the class, the girls were chatting with Mei and asking her about Nishino, unaware that Takashi was also there and accidentally evasdropping their conversation. Mei truthfully told the girls that it was over between her and Nishino. She explained on the night before Nishino moved, he had gone over to find her, suddenly saying they will not meet anymore and behaved coldly. Mia was shocked and asked Mei how did it become so? Mei continued that for Nishino to say such things suddenly, she was too shocked to accept nor believe. So wanting to have a more in depth chat to find out what happened, Mei went to look for Nishino. It was then Mei spotted the girl helping Nishino moving house. Mei came to a conclusion that Nishino has fallen for the other girl. Mei's girlfriends were shocked but Mei quickly insisted its over but she was fine, not because she was pretending to be strong but that things are truly over. Mei's friends exclaimed its so totally shocking and unbelieveable! Mia added that Mei was truly better off breaking things off with such a guy, and also help in concentratin better to study for high school entrance exams. Meanwhile, Takashi fell into deep thoughts of his own....

That night, Takashi asked Mei if she had time to chat for a little. While alone, Takashi told Mei he wished to be in the same high school as Mei. Takashi hesitatingly added, "if I made it to high school, I mean IF i made it to high school, please go out with me!" Mei was taken by surprise by the confession. Takashi said "I guess you still care about Nishino...." but Mei quickly denied saying things are over between her and Nishino. Takashi was happy to hear that and said " Really! I have always wanted to stay by your side. If anything had happened to Mei, I will definitely protect you!" Mei kept quiet. Looking at Mei's expression, a disappointed Takashi said "I guess it is not possible huh...." Mei tried to explain its not that its not possible and Takashi interrupted her saying "If Mei would nod her head now and agree, I would be able to work very hard, a 100 times more than now, so...so.." AT this point, Mei nodded her head to a surprised Takashi. "Really?" Takashi asked. Mei smiled and nodded her head again. An overjoyed Takashi went yelling "Fantastic! I have succeeded! I have succeeded! She has said ok!!!" Mei stood there looking at him and smiled.

At the cafe, the rest of the group were discussing about their parents and grandmother being excited to attend their graduation day. All were excited except for Mia who looked on awkwardly not contributing to the conversation. When asked, Mia quickly changed topic as Mei looked on sensing something weird with Mia behavior.

At the new rehab facility, Nishino mum told him that it was great that he had also moved near to her. She said she would also try hard, so that she can return home early, because she wants to live with him. Nishino nodded his head and agreed.

Back to school, the teacher congratulated everyone on passing junior high school, saying it was also a miracle that Miyabi also manage to graduate! The girl laughed and said it was the first time she got complimented and everyone in class laughed! The teacher went on to review the past year together, recalling about the cultural festival success, though he cheekily added that he personally thought their theme (the card reading) was a "fraud". Teacher quickly went on to add that he had also carefully look at the performance of the band and dance, which he felt was excellent much to the joy of Takashi and the guys! The teacher added if only he could graduate with everyone who had come along so far....then he mentioned Sara was getting better and she would be graduating with her new classmates in another school. He also mentioned the reason for Nishino transfer, due to his mother's change in hositalisation and that Nishino didnt want the class to worry, so he asked the teacher to withhold the information.

During phototaking, everyone was busy with their parents. Only Mia looked on sadly alone. Miyabi passed her and asked if her parents wasnt here which Mia agreed. Alone at the roof top, Mei told a lone Mia that she took a long time locating her. At that point, Mia finally told Mei the truth about her parents. Her parents had both divorced and remarried and she followed her father. However, immediately after his new marriage, the father had gone overseas living her alone with her new mum, hence unable to form a new relationship without her father to help being the link. She told Mei she was like air at home, totally invisible and neglible existence. When she recalled about how she and Mei met the first time, she explained how happy she was on the first day when Mei reached out to her and called her by her name which no one had done so for so long. Listening to all that, Mei told Mia that they will always be friends. While standing up there, Kamiya spotted them and confessed his liking to Mia, shouting to her from the ground. The rest of the group cheered him on! Before they left the school, they decided to "leave messages" on the locker as the last memories of their time in junior high school.

When the results were released, Mei made it to high school but a disappointed Takashi did not. He mentioned he would go to nightschool instead since his dad would not be able to send him to private school. He asked Mei to join him in nightschool but Mei told him it was so hard for her to finally pass the entrance exam for her desired high school. Takashi proposed instead that they meet at 5pm everyday after her school so that they could spend some time together before he head off to his nightclass. Mei agreed. While walking to their new school together, Mia told Mei that she has become a couple with Kamiya and Mia suggested that they should do couple dating the next time.

While strolling along the bridge one day, Takashi told Mei that actually he had saw Mei before they were classmate. He told her how he had spotted her in her Yuta walking back along this bridge and thought she was very cute, he told himself how he wished he could see her again. Then he spotted her in school playing basketball and how he had liked her ever since, however by the time he realised, Mei already had Nishino by her side and how Takashi regreeted he hadnt told Mei earlier how he felt.

At that point, Mei confessed she had truly liked Nishino deep down from her heart. "I always felt there were too many unexplainable coincidences between us, hence believing that Nishino was destined to be my other half. However at the time I needed to see him the most, we never met. I have alot of things to say to him but in the end, I said nothing. Most probably, I am the only one who believed in destiny. I guess Nishino must have wanted to keep his distance after seeing that I am this sort of person (believing in thread of destiny)..." Turning around to face Takashi, Mei added "However Taka-chan, you have been guarding over me. I would not have been able to make it through for Sara's incident if I had been alone then. Thank you." At that, Takashi hugged her.

Takashi said to Mei "From now on, we will be together, ALWAYS together!" Mei nodded in agreement. At the shrine, a happy Takashi was going to place his board message until he spotted the one that Mei had written before. His face and mood changed.....

At his father's curry shop, Fujiwara and his new school mate came over to have lunch. Takashi learnt much to his dismay, Nishino is back in town studying at a high school nearby. Meanwhile, Mei was having a drink with Mia and Yui. To her shock, she saw Mami as well, who is now a schoolmate of Yui. Mia asked Mei if she knew Mami and Mei told her that she was the girl that Nishino liked. Yui added that Nishino is back and that she had heard rumours that Mami and Nishino are a couple but she didnt know how to say it to Mei. Mei told her its alright as its all over and she had to rush off. Mia told a surprised Yui that Mei had to meet Takashi everyday at 5pm much to Yui's shock.

At the train station, Takashi expressed displeasure that Mei was late. He questioned her whereabouts and she told him she ran as fast as she could after meeting the girls. However Takashi demanded that she should not be late the next time just because she had drinks with her friends as he cherished this short meeting time together very much. Mei apologised again and looked uneasy for a split second.

Next scene we see Nishino walking back alone and Mami appeared with the shrine guy, proposing to make dinner. While making dinner, Mami once again started her sob story and asking Nishino if he knew how his mum met her father. Nishino shooked his head saying he didnt know. Mami said because her father who had worked at sales was always at the club place where Nishino mum worked, it resulted in her parents fighting all the time. Hence she had never been to any theme parks, aquariums or places that normal family kids go to. She then coyly added that Nishino must also not have gone to all these places which he agreed. If and only if Nishino doesnt mind, she proposed that both of them should go to all those places together. Nishino said yes if he had time, he woulkd accompany her much to the scheming bitch delight.

In class, Mei was surprised when 3 guys appeared, introducing themselves as Takashi's friends, and they were said to spy and monitor her at Takashi's request. Mei was shocked. Apparently, they had stopped Mei from able to interact with their school mates at instructions of Takashi. His friends called Takashi to described the events much to Takashi's delight. His friend however added should Takashi trust Mei abit more since she doesnt look like the sort who would play the field? "That is not the problem" Takashi said seriously. Then he changed track saying that he is just that he is just the sort who worries easily, such as drowning in love too.

That night, Takashi suggested he would skip class that night to spend more time with Mei. mei rejected the idea. Mei then said that Takashi would have also made new friends which he agreed. Mei then added "So let's not meet everyday after school. Both of us need to spend time with our new friends....." Takashi Slapped Mei across the face before she could finished! Mei looked at him in shock! Takashi angrily asked how why did she say such things before storming off, leaving Mei standing that holding her face in shock still!

An angry Takashi went to the cafe alone and almost started a fight but was stopped by the staff. Mei on the other hand walked on alone and stare into her own reflection at one of the store...

OMG! Takashi is getting more and more violent from the trailer shots!! Nishino seemed to know find out Mia was started to use drugs. There was a scene Mei seemed to be defending Taka? In the end, the trailer shot saw all of them in the hospital, with Mei receiving listening to a message from Takashi saying "Up to here now, goodbye". Oh no! I hope Takashi didnt kill himself!!! Poooor Mei!

Akai Ito Episode 06 Summary

Time rewinds back to 14years ago, at the nursery.

Baby Nishino was having a fever and the teacher persistently paged his mum who was still working at the night club and unable to return the call. Finally after her work, Nishino's mum rushed to the nursery, only to be calmed by the teacher that she had brought Nishino to see a doctor and his fever is subsiding. Nishino mum thanked the teacher and realised she was new. After the teacher introduced herself, she spotted Nishino and baby Mei was asleep holding hands together much to the amusement to both mothers... (sooocute!)

Back at home packing for his move, Nishino came across his mum's old photo album. As he flipped through, he saw his mother carrying himself with another mother and a baby girl. As he flipped to next page, after a min pause, he recognised the same baby picture that he had once saw Mei holding on the rooftop. As he turned and looked, his name and Mei's name was written on the bacl of it. He recalled conversations with Mei's mum asking him to part ways with Mei, and what the drug peddler guy had said about his mum's best friend committing sucide. In shock, Nishino slumped into the chair.

Back at Mei's room, Mia was asking her why isnt Nishino meeting up with Mei. Mei explained Nishino's mum is hospitalised. Yui and Mia expressed surprised that Nishino had kept such a big secret from them, joking and laughing over at how Nishino always avoided their questioning at his "mysteriousness" by giving them a standard answer "This is an adult's problem". They said Mei had also prob liked that side of Nishino. At that, Mei's mobile rang. As she answered it, the caller said "Murderer! Dont go to school. Go and Die!" and hung up. Mei was shocked but didnt say a word to her friends.

At the shrine, Mei wished for Sara's recovery. On another message board, she wrote" Wishing Nishino's mum's quick recovery, and if I am together with Nishino....."

Back at Nishino's place, Mami was helping Nishino to pack. Before she left, she saw Nishino's baby picture and he dashed forward to grab the album from her. While he was away, mei called his mobile but Mami selfishly decided to end the call, not telling Nishino about it.

In school, mei discovered someone had destroyed her indoor shoes and dumped it in the bin. In class, the teacher informed them Sara had recovered but due to family reasons, the whole family is leaving for Osaka. After school, the group went to meet Sara and Mei apologised profusedly. To Mei's shock, Sara asked "Who are you? Are you my classmates?" Sara's mum told her to wait in the car, before telling Mei and the rest that Sara suffered from memory loss as an after effects from the fall, and asked them not to contact Sara anymore and leave her alone. The group walked home sadly, especially Mei who could not make amends with Sara.

As Mei sadly part ways with Mia and the rest, she sat alone and was joined by Takshi who was worried about her. Mei confided in Takshi " Sara said it was only up to junior year3 that she had felt happy going to school for the first time." Takashi hesitantly agreed, stating that Sara was in the same class as him in year 2, and she was completely different from the Sara now. Mei said "She once said, it felt good to have friends for the first time. Sara is a person who will always remember things that are happy, no matter how small the matter is, she will earnestly store those memories in her heart..but now, she has forgotten them all. I have wiped away all of Sara's memories away." Mei sat there and sobbed as Takashi listened and looked on helplessly.

At the shrine, Nishino thanked the shrine guy for all the help rendered. Shrine guy informed Nishino about Mei's visit to the shrine few days away and being worried, she had wished for Nishino's mum recovery. Nishino listened on silently with a look of stabbing pain. The shrine guy took a look at him and told Nishino " You have your own way of thinking, however, comparing to the one who left without a word, the one who got left behind will be hurt even more. The more one cherishes the other, the more one cannot go on without the other. Isnt it cruel for you to give such a painful memory to Mei?" Nishino silently tried to hold back his tears hearing all that.

In school when mei entered the class, she was confronted by nasty messages on the classroom board - (Slut! You will never be forgiven! Give her life back to her. Return Sara her memory! Traitor to friend! Don't come back to school!) Mei looked on in shock. Her mobile started beeping and she had over 21 messages condemning her and asking her to die. Takashi entered the room seeing the messages and asked "What are all that?! Who wrote those things? It was my fault that sara jumped. It was me who dated Mei. If u must blame, blame it on me! Don't blame Mei. Blame it on me!" Then he yelled at Mia and rest "What are you guys doing? Why are you guys standing there? Aint you guys friends?" Takashi headed to the board to wipe the messages off and everyone rushed forward to help.

At that point, one of the class girls said coldly. "Are you people stupid? Why should that sort of woman be defended?" Another girl added" She has lost her memory, and it's all because of Mei." Takashi yelled at them to shut up but the girl continued on "Takashi, you have never cared for Sara did you?" "It's not so!" Takashi denied adding "It was all my fault! Nothing to do with mei!" The class girls retorted "Takashi, Mei, do you two know what you two have done?! How could you two just come to school as if nothing happened?" Mia agitatedly asked "What do you guys expect Mei to do!" "GO DIE." the classgirl said. Mia shouted stop it but the girls continued taunting Mei "That's right. Go die to redeem your crime. It is Mei who had destroyed Sara's whole life!"

Mei finally spoke and said "I know that. If Sara never forgive me, I would never be forgiven the rest of my life. I too know that I had destroyed Sara's life. However, even if I cannot be forgiven, I too hope for her memory recovery, to remember everything I did. Even though everyone had told me to end my life, however if I do that, the Sara in my heart will also disappear. Even if Sara had forgotten about me, I would never forget her. For the rest of my life, I will always remember what I had done. For Sara, this is this much I could do for her if nothing else."

At Mei's place, Nishino approached mei's mum. Nishino informed her that he is transferring school because of his mum move to a new rehab center. "At that time you had told me to part ways with Mei, I did not understand why. Considering your reservations, it was understandable, which is why no matter what, I will help my mum to recover and quit her addictions, and to meet Mei in a proper sober way. The last time when you said your best friend was my mum's good friend, the woman must have passed away because of my mum." Sensing silence from Mei's mum, Nishino took out a picture and showed it to her, saying that was her mum, and asking if the baby girl in the pix was Baby Mei. The mum looked at the shot and finally relented to the truth and said said yes it was Mei.

"You and Mei were neighbors in the same apartment building. I am not Mei's birth mum. Mei's mum Machiko san is a warm hearted person, and like a younger sister to me. However one day, Mei's father was caught possessing drugs and thus was arrested. At that time, Nishino's mum was already in the midst of drug trade dealing. Mei's mum was a fragile person and committed sucide as she couldnt accept the truth. Which is why I asked you not to go near Mei." "So that was it..." Nishino replied.

As he stood up and made his leave , he confided to mei's mum sadly " I only first knew about it during the cultural festival, that Mei and I are born on the same day 29th Feb. At that time I remembered, did I meet Mei somewhere before? Could it be that we met at my 8th year old birthday? The little girl I knocked over outside the cake shop? When I knew that person was Mei, I was really truly overjoyed! Perhaps both of us were fated to meet each other. Even when I am in great pain now, I would still think about Mei, wishing to hear her voice. I guess I still am, I still like Mei very very Much. Thank you for telling me all these. I will part ways with mei." Saying that, he left.

At the shrine, Nishino read Mei's message on wishing board which stated " I wish for Nishino's mum early recovery. If I could be with Nishino together, happy things would double, and sad things would be halved." Mei called at that exact moment, after much emotional struggle and heartache, Nishino ended the call without answering it.

Next day, Nishino and the shrine guy went to school to do the paper work for his transfer. Nishino told sensei not to inform the class of his departure as he would not like to be asked about the reason of his transfer or mention of his mum. Sensei promised he would not reveal a thing to the class. As nishino left school, He was spotted by Fujiwara and stopped him to have a quick chat, asking why hasnt Nishino been to school and no contact? Nishino apologised that he had lots to do. "What stuff?"Fujiwara asked. "Well....it's adult's matter." Nishino gave the standard reply. "Stop bull shitting me. Even though I do not know what had happened, don't shoulder the weight of problems all by yourself. You would feel better after sharing your problems." All Nishino could say was thank you before leaving. "Are we that unreliable?" Fujiwara asked out loud to a departing Nishino. Nishino stopped and turned around stating of course not. "Are you still going to kick football in high school?" Nishino asked. "Of course, that is the only thing I am good at." Fujiwara replied. "Is that so.. great for you." Nishino shared. "What is wrong with you, saying things like that? I heard from Yui that you havent been in contact much with Mei." Fujiwara stated. Nishino was stumped but the conversation got interrupted by another football mate, where Nishino used it as his chance to leave. When Fujiwara said see u tomorrow, Nishino did not share he was transfering school.

That night, Mei finally received a message from Nishino asking if she could meet. She rushed down and started asking Nishino "What happened? I was worried! I have been waiting for you to contact me. What had happened? If there is something, please share it with me, even if I could only be a listening audience, however if there is something I can do...""U are SO nosily naggy." Nishino cut a surprised Mei off. "Dont you know why? Not calling you, not replying messages, you should have noticed right?" Nishino said in a mean way. "What do you mean?" Mei questioned. "that is to say I no longer have any feelings for you. That is what it is." Nishino stated coldly and started to walk off. Mei panicked and chased after him, asking him to stop for a minute."This is too sudden! I dont understand what is the meaning of all this that is happening! Please explain yourself more clearly!" Mei begged him. Ignoring her questions, Nishino just said"One more thing, I am transferring school. Let's not meet anymore." "Changing school? So sudden?" Mei was still reeling in schock. Nishino interrupted her saying "Which is to say it is over between us. You are truly annoying." Mei watched on broken hearted as Nishino walked away from her. As she returned to her room, tears started falling while Nishino sat alone in the bus, both of them heartbroken from the end of their relationship.

Nishino went to visit his mum. He told her about the change of school and all has been packed from the home, the shrine, as well as school locker. "I should not have left anything behind.." Nishino shared. His mum looked at a miserable sad looking Nishino, she was overwhelmed with sadness too and kep apologising to Nishino.

Next day after school, Mei finally told the rest that Nishino had transferred school and left. Fujiwara shared he did think Nishino acted weird yesterday. Mei also added they had broken up much to shock of everyone. Takashi however said it was good if its a mutual decision. "To break up so easily, there must not have been much feelings/ liking there, if one truly like the other, one would not end a relationship so easily. right?" Takashi looked at Mei and walked away, leaving Mei to think about what was said.

Mei not willing to accept all these sudden change in event, she ran to look for Nishino. He spotted her and was shocked. In order to ensure Mei would give up on him, he deliberately called out to Mami. Pretending not to know of Mei's existence, he purposely said that Mami should come to visit him when it is holiday, and that he looked forward in seeing her. "I would be able to become strong if I have Mami around, so please send me emails."

Mei overheard everything and confronted Nishino. "If you had liked someone else, couldnt you come outright to say it?? During summer vacation, I have been waiting for your call. Wanting to see you the whole time. However I suppressed myself everytime I think about how busy u are with your mum. Many things have happened. I have alot to tell u. So much countless things. To be so fickle about liking someone, then dont say things like "destiny and fate". Goodbye!" Mei ran off crying.
