I have been doing a drama marathon with the latest taiwanese drama "In time with you" -我可能不會愛你,featuring Ariel Lin and Chen BoLin
This is one Taiwan drama that I do like alot. Unlike its many taiwanese drama counterparts, this drama is more like a mini-stage play style reformatted into a TV series. There are many lines in the movie that are classic and worth taking away with, and there are many thought provoking moments.
The love story revolves around the female lead going into her 30s and starting to fret about her lack of suitable partner in love. Her best fren, a guy she had known since high school all the way through university is her constant companion, confidente, and emotional support. Their friendship has always been built on the assumption that they will never fall in love with each other, simply because of an innocent statement the guy had sprouted in a moment (during highschool) that he will not fall in love with her while trying to placate her.
One of the main reason I love this drama to date is because it has a more philosophical take on "what is love to a woman over 30" and it doesnt go all mushy and lovey dovey is a bonus. I love it because I can relate to many aspect of it, its like watching a replay of a typical woman's life as she develop and grows in her thoughts and handling of love. Being 30 and in love means you no longer have to seek "permission" to cut your hair. Being 30 means you are confident in yourself and knows what you want and not want. You are no longer a puppet to your life or the other party that you love.
Ariel as an actress has grown in many ways and in here, I especially give her credit in her acting and personification of Cheng You Qing's character. I really like her here. Her projection of "toughness", her "vulnerability", her "pettiness", her "sorrows", her "uncertainty" etc...all the emotions that a woman can probably relate to.
Chen Bo Lin is another actor whom I have not seen in TV drama for ages. So it was a welcoming change to see him on small screen again after all these years. I thought he was rather adorable here.
In here, he plays Li Da Ren the best fren of his classmate. He has secretly liked her all these years but because of something he had said before, resulted in a fate of him being treated as "best fren" all the past 14years with You Qing. He tried his best to control his feelings but eventually as time passed, he gradually wanted to spill the beans but was he too late with the return of You Qing's ex, the love that he knew You Qing had loved alot? By telling the truth, will it mean the end of friendship? With all the wrong moments, and missed timing, does he now have to hide his love, so that he can see his best fren being in love with the "love of her life" Will?
For those who had not started on this drama, I would highly recommend you to give it a go.

Hi there,
Sorry if I ask something out of the topic.. Would you mind to do review "scent of a woman". Love to read your review and hopefully you can do the review for this series :)
I so love this drama, you are right, the lines here are very good, some ppl i know said its not a good drama, i feel so frustrated that they donot know how to appreciate a good drama.
Hi kirah
I havent started on "scent of a woman" so the review may take a while because I am currently watching "Brain" and starting on "49days". Think u will be able to wait? :)
Hi jnsee,
Thanks! I thought I was the only one who actually paid attention to the lines! lol! I guess some people prefer the more direct approach of a romance while this is more subtle and brewing in the background that takes a different approach to draw in the crowd. Perhaps the lines are too "poetic" for some. Much that I like the lines, I felt the ending was a little draggy as per all Taiwan drama but overall, like u said it, its a good drama. Dont be overly frustrated with the naysayers, there are different dramas for different crowd of audience. Just glad that we found someone to appreciate what we think is good:)
