K-drama: Secret Garden Episode 1 Summary

Note: Since this is Korean and not Japanese drama, I am not translating but rather summarising from a existing translated epi. So I dont take credit for the translation, nor the accuracy except for rewriting the summary in my own words and screen caps.

Secret Garden: Ep 1 Summary

The story starts with Joo Won meeting the potential partner of an arranged marriage inside an art gallery. From the start, Joo Won wasted no time nor minced his words about the fact that it wont panned out. So he told the girl - Yoon Seul to save it and tell her family that she had dropped him from consideration.

In an exclusive (rich) VIP lounge, Yoon Seul was sharing her incident with her gf, about how usually men has never been able to resist her charms but yet, Jon Won left without a shred of hesitation. She thought he was really cool and just then, a girl (Ra Im) dressed "shabbily" in rugged clothes entered the lounge and sat down. She ever had tattoos, pissing Yoon Seul off. Yoon Seul questioned the staff working there and questioned the presence of this "questionable"behavior. Ra Im made her move so as not to trouble her friend but YS was determined to see her fren fired and took her name tag.

Through sheer coincidence, Yoon Seul's fren's bag was snatched before Ra Im could confront them. Ra Im took a moment to take in the situation and dashed off after the snatch theives. After getting the bag back, she requested to have the name tag back but YS shrugged and said she had dumped it inside the bin at the main entrance. Annoyed with her haughty attitude, Ra Im dragged YS to the bin and demanded her to retrieve the tag since she was the one who dumped it. YS had no choice but to take the tag out of her purse and threw it to Ra Im in a huff. Ra Im grabbed YS's bag and threw rubish into it, stating that YS bag is more like rubbish bin to her before leaving. While YS was fuming, YS's fren thought Ra Im was cool!

[ Next few scene shows Ra Im working as stunt woman and attending Oska's concert being his fan. Jon Won was also present in another spot, lamenting how is that Oscar's singing is getting from bad to worse! ]

Jon Won went to work and he took the escalator all the way to the top office. Unknown to outsiders, Jon Won had serious case of claustrophobia syndrome and fear of enclosed spaces which constricts his breathing (he feels like suffocating). Meanwhile, there was power struggle between Jon Won and another manager (extended "relatives" ) who is eyein on Jon Won's position.

At a production scene, Ra Im asked to practice the sword play scene with the lead actress but the relunctant actress Park tried to injure Ra im but ended up falling over the props. Ra Im got a nasty cut and kept apologising while Park was crying pain over a bleeding fingernail. Ra Im boss was pissed at the treatment of Ra Im and declared quitting their involvement and stormed off.

During his consultancy with his doctor, Oska called Jon won for help to settle Park as she was blackmailing him over some secret tapes. Jon Won agreed to help only after getting Oscar to sign a deal with his mall. Jon Won went to the set and by mistake, grabbed Ra Im instead thinking she was Park.

Jon won asked her where was the the hotel she and Oscar first met and she answered it was room 1210. Hearing that, Jon Won cursed and yelled in frustration if they didnt have better things to do but have to book such a high floor!!!! (because that means he has to climb stairs all the way due to his fear of elevator)

While waiting for the elevator, Jon Won told Ra Im to head up first pretending that others cannot see him with a woman riding a lift to a hotel room. Ra Im looked at him and his clothes. Jon Won turned ard to try to show her the tag but they had all entered the elevator ignoring him. Ra im expressed a look of mild shock at his behavior and hurriedly closed the door. In the room, she recalled her first work encounter with Oska and smiled to herself. Meanwhile, Jon Won was climbing up the stairs in utter agony and much fatigue!

Finally Jon Won reached the room and desperately grabbed the water from Ra Im.

He asked her if she doesnt feel weird being alone with him but she replied its her job to deal with men all the time. Jon won nearly choked as he misunderstood her to mean she sleeps around alot. He asked how long since she knew Oska and she replied that it had been a while and didnt expect Oscar to rem her. JW said she has a memorable cute face and such a frank character making her easy to rem. He said he couldnt resist but  curious to know "how much fee she charges normally "esp for movie stars. Ra Im asked if he refers to the production fees (her salary)? JW was frankly amused by her jargon and chuckled, stating he is only curious about the amount. Thinking JW was refering to her stunt job, she explained that the status of the celeb does not determine or inflate the fee but the location esp outdoor will jack up the cost. A puzzled JW asked outdoor? Ra Im said like rooftop, the bushes which are rather popular now.

JW looked genuinely shocked and laughed. Ra Im added cars are most expensive due to the complex technicalities and difficulties. JW was stunned and nodded in agreement that the space is indeed confined etc...Ra Im agreed adding that all men love speed and passion. Interesting character JW muttered and asked if it doesnt matter to her at all, this hotel thingie?

Then it dawned on Ra Im that JW had mistook her for someone else! Then she commented what sort of clothes he wore and is embarrassing Oska even if JW is his errand boy! They finally sort out the mess that JW had grabbed the wrong woman!!!! Just then, Ra Im received the call for her to resume work and she happily stated she will be back on set in half hour. JW asked how would it be possible and Ra Im said just to hand over the keys! JW screamed all the way back in shock as she sped back on the road!

While Ra im went back to work, JW approached Park and managed to stop her release of the sex tape to the press. While relaying the news to Oscar, JW spotted Ra Im in deep action with her sword play scene and was momentarily bewitched by her.

He was frozen there watching her intensely with a smile. He finally understood her job nature.

After her work, JW waited for her and asked if she was a stuntwoman. He said that was a unique job and why she was into the line. He asked if she wasnt smart thus such a manual labor intensive job? Ra Im asked if he was curious but she wont say why, plus the job is useless for moments like this and proceeded to kick him hard on his shin! JW doubled over in sheer agony and pain and yelled why did she kick him since he is genuinely curious?!

She said he should thank his lucky stars that her arms are injured or it wont just be a kick. JW asked if she thinks he is an idiot? Even he knew that wound is a fake. She said quietly that it is not painted on as she continued to walk away. JW demanded that how would it be and threaten to sue her if she doesnt stop but saw the dripping blood on the floor and was stunned.

He ran forth to grab her and asked if she is really hurt. She told him not to yell since she didnt anyone else to discover her wounds but he grabbed to see her nasty slash and angrily yelled at her if she is stupid and that she is even having a fever!!!

JW drove her to the hospital and Ra Im got off and started walking away stating she is fine. JW grabbed and stopped her, asking if she was shaking and shivering so hard because this is the first time she had seen such a good looking guy? JW proceeded to explain that he is only helping because that is the way he was brought up to help stranger as he believe in the theory of doing good deeds, and for her not to get the wrong idea that it was for her. With that, he grabbed and carried her into the hospital.

As Ra im slept and frown in her sleep, JW gently reached to touch her forehead to stop her frown. His doc appeared and asked if its his girl? He denied saying it was the first time he knew her. In between, Ra Im's mobile rang. JW answered the call with the ID "My boss".

The director asked isnt this Ra Im's phone? JW asked if that's her name and how old she is. The director asked who is that on the line and JW retorted who is he in return and asked why is the director asking such stupid questions since even if JW told the director his name, he still wont know who he is. The doc grabbed the phone from him instead. Just then, JW lifted the blanket and spotted her Oska socks!

Annoyed and miffed, he glared at a sleeping Ra im before yanking her socks off with huge determination before throwing the socks away into the bin! (LOL!!!)

In her sleep, Ra im kept apologising and JW woke her up telling her its just a dream. Just then her boss appeared yelling at her that if its that serious! She said she thot it was fine but the director continued to reprimand her out of serious concern for her safety (the director obviously carries a touch for her). She nearly fell while trying to pacify her boss but JW grabbed her and she explained to the director JW is just Oscar errand boy and no one to worry about. She pushes JW away and the director unable to stand JW touching Ra Im twice already, personally carried her out himself. JW looked at them and commented to himself that she sure is a woman who hug alot of people.

At the entrance, JW witness Ra Im declining the director's ride home and lied about taking a cab, and ending up walking on the street.

Unable to stop himself, JW stopped his car and stopped infront of her, asking how did she lied about taking the cab and if she was planning on him stopping to give her a ride home? Annoyed Ra Im asked what is his problem but JW persisted in knowing how she didnt take a cab and if she had no money? He said he will give her a ride but she said why. He said why should there be any reason other than he felt like it but rather why she is stopping him? At that, Oska appeared and started yelling at JW. Ra im was stunned to see her idol!

Oska realised her prescene and started to apologise and introduce himself. When he noticed her gaze, he smiled and said he rem who she is, that familiar stare and nervous perspiration! He commented she still look as cool as ever! Ra im not able to believe Oska can rem someone lowly as her said he must have mistook her for someone else, but Oska said def not as he rem that look of hers. Jon Won muttered there he goes again thinking Oska is using his "chasing woman trïcks". However Oska proceed to describe the movie set they had worked on with precision and finally he called her by her name. JW looked on in frustration while Ra im smiled in shock happiness !
