I just wanted to watch something different for a change...so I ended up rewatching "Band of Brothers" over again! This is seriously the best war theme production I have ever watched and can never get sick of it (with Black Hawk Down ranking number 2 spot). I think its way better than "the Pacific" in terms of script and character development. Maybe its only because I really like Major Richard Winter played by Damian Lewis - one of my fav actor.
Then I moved on to reading some manga. Just started on this Korean series "My bf is a vampire". It's only at chap 12. No idea how it will pan out yet. It has good premise but it doesnt have beautiful artwork as the Japanese counterpart. It's a little kiddish but I was a little intrigued by the concept of "gender" changing vampire ability. It's not exactly addictive but its not bad for a light read for a change.
Reread another book I have had. The slick, witty humor adminstered with a deadpan delivery never fails to entertain. Titled "When you are engulfed by flames" by David Sedaris. Give it a go if you are looking for a light honest funny read.
I should be sorting out the scandi pixs but I got tired after day 1 of pixs...think I took too much. haa haa. Need to filter out the repeats and choose the nicest to upload. Dear lord..this will take a while

Ok people...I am going to start on Sungkyunkwan Scandal soon, primarily since its so highly rated by your girls, and also coz it has one of my cute celeb Song Jung-ki in it. Since I lost access to KBS, I havent been able to see him in the Music Bank program anymore...
Will try to catch up asap and tell u girls what do I think. So much to watch and write...i havent even started on Hotaru! I feel a little faint from all the missing recaps I want to write up...At least my Jap tutor should be "proud" of me at my diligence to catch up on my Jap summaries... :P Hopefully she will cut me some slack for my test on wed...*mischievous grin*

Playful Kiss ep 7+8 : A glimmer of hope ...
Just when I was all but ready to raise my white flag and give up on Playful Kiss, the last two episodes 7+8 has given me a glimpse of hope that all is not lost!
I know it may not a widespread notion that this drama is not exactly great, but I was really ready to just give up on the series after ep 6. However, the last airing of ep 8 renewed my interest again, largely due to a more display of scenes more in line with the manga, and rapid decline of silly stupid nonsensical nonwitty comical scene that fail to tickle my sense of humor. I actually did have a few scene i could snicker at.
I must fessed up that I had actually enjoyed the "uni life" of the couple than the senior high life. At least they are acting more like realistic interaction between people. KHJ in tennis scenes were my fav...esp when he was coaching Oh Hani.. He wasnt the monstrous coach, but a rather decent young chap. I like the cooking scene where the secret was out that he was the secret chef, and KHJ had to look like he was stewing in his seat:) And when he was desperately yelling "to the right to the right" to a stony slow witted reflexes Oh Hani, i couldnt help but chuckle.
I agree with some comments that Oh Hani's charcater in K-version is much better than the Taiwanese female lead. The taiwanese version is alittle too stupid that makes my blood boil at times too, bordering at the impossible at times. At least Oh Hani has some pride, like in the cinema where she refuses to tag behind KHJ and the 2nd female lead because she too had some pride...etc. That was a good scene, something I can relate to when she thinks it truly is time to give up if her crush has his eyes on another prize. However, in terms of character development, I still like the Taiwanese Male version lead better...
I dun really like the looks of the 2nd female lead. Her features are not strange but I just felt she comes acros a little too mature and old for this role. She looks more like KHJ older sister than someone who is the same year. And she looks so fake..canx describe it..just something about her is off. I still havent decide if its the character or her. She is trying to express through her eyes but its not doing it for me.
KHJ's charcater;s mum is growing on me. I really like her. Heee heee.
Ok, now I am actually curious enuff to want to see ep 9 in their flight of escape from the mafia.
Has anyone else noticed yet that KHJ has not a scene where he doesnt wear short sleeves. He is constantly in looser tops with long sleeves. I guess they are trying to hide his muscular arms that is hard to associate with first year uni student?
I was rewatching "WGM" which is screening on cable tv here. Watching him there with his long feminine hair, and him here in P.K with his shorter perm crop. I have to say he seems to have come a long way from being a cute boy, to a somewhat cute guy. Our KHJ has come a long way somehow over the passage of time and I didnt realise it till I compare his onscreen looks from then and now. Despite what people still say about KHJ, he def is better on camera screen now, the seemingly higher level of confidence, not as screen shy. Maybe that's why we think he is better as he seem more confortable with his own skin on screen.
Did I stray again.? Ooopss.

Zhong Wu Yan Ep 10 Review and Summary
This drama is getting better and better, with Howard (Qing Chu / Huo Hua) being my favorite character. Boy This guy can really act. The way he has that cynical laugh. his clear open disdain for Qi Xuan, his obstinate nature and impatience of a blind guy, his growing affection for Wuyan, his interpretation and enactment of scenes between him and his twin brother... It's so refreshing to be able to see someone being able to act for a change and not selling the role through hot looks. (Not that I am complaining about eye candies). Of course Ming Dao is gaining much brownie points too with his character of Qi Xuan, only he can make such a "dumb arse" to be so lovable. I know some people thinks that Ethan Ruan has better chemistry with Cheryl (WuYan) but I personally think Ethan may not be able to pull off the thick skull chracter as well as Ming Dao had... Ethan is more like the bright sunny impish boy to me.
Several components are the key elements of this ep. The growing unease and tension between the model and Wuyan, the increasing uncertainty and musing of Xuan's feelings towards Wuyan, and the open focused display of intent towards Wuyan by Howard... Wow! I love "open" fight for a woman, and cat fight of a villian destined to lose! Gloating laughs....
Zhong Wu Yan Episode 10 Summary
After last episode where Xuan angrily stormed out of the house, Wuyan rushed to Xuan's father with deep concern over his failing health. She tried to assure the old guy that in all fairness, she had witness the maturing and efforts of Xuan over these period.
Xuan meanwhile had dodged the scene and escaped to the model's place for refuge for the nite. As she happily welcomed him to her place and made noodles for him, Xuan chanced upon a "composite" picture of a chubby girl and him.
The next morn, Xuan approached his best fren Dave to consult him on his "feelings". Dave who pried where he had been last nite since he was still in the same clothes as yesterday. Xuan replied "Sofa" and Dave pressed on as to where. Xuan honestly replied it was at Ying's place and Dave immediately exclaimed the "answer" is obvious! However Xuan interjected "but all I thought about the whole nite was Wuyan!". Dave Suggested to throw a coin to decide the woman but Xuan stopped him. Dave said perhaps Xuan already knows the answer deep in his heart but was in denial. Dave further reminded him no matter who Xuan choose, as his buddy he will always support him, however he warned Xuan not to drag it further for the sake of both women.
Xuan returned to office, and tried to explain where he was and why he was at YingChun the model's place. However, Wuyan coldly told him it was none of her biz and he didn have to say anything to her. Xuan glumly went to his seat and at loss as to what to do next... just then, a parcel arrived and it was the gown for the "Eternal" ball and event. Wuyan walked to Xuan, who perked up at her nearing but she only thanked him, and reminded him that he should apologise to his dad as afterall whatever the oldman did, it was only because he loved Xuan. With that she went back to work.
At the same time, Howard awaken from his nitemare of his twin brother who had passed away, and realised he could finally see once again!
At home, Wuyan was trying the hairclip that Xuan had given him previously. She was stunned to see him in her room, which he said he knocked but she didnt response. he asked how did she have that clip and she said he had given to her. He exclaimed how was it possible and then it hit him, the incident where she had loan him the phone. He then asked in shock if she was the one who loan the phone and why didnt she tell him earlier? She snapped why should she since she too had her pride if he doesnt recognise her instead. He said it was that dark that nite and he didnt have a chance to see her clearly esp he was all naked and all. he then commented with a smile that they seemed to share some destined fate together afterall.
With that, he helped her with the clip and told her she looked nice and she should wear it for the ball tomorrow. As he grinned at her reflection with her, Wuyan gave a weak smile but the moment was broken when the phone rang and it was the model. Xuan paused awkwardly and didnt know how to react but Wuyan told him it ok and for him to answer the call. With that, he reluctantly walked out of the room, leaving a heavy hearted Wuyan to remove the clip and "face reality".
The next day, Wuyan was all dressed up in the white gown and ready for the ball. Her sister exclaimed how beautiful she looked and Xuan smiled along with it. when they arrived, they were surprised to be told that they had to wear a mask for the party. Xuan remarked it was strange to be a masquerade party for an official event as such, however he then honestly remarked again but at least its a good thing that it takes attention from her birthmark. Wuyan looked at him but he quickly exclaimed he had no malice nor other meaning in that comment. Just then the model breezed into the party in the exact same dress!
The reporters crowd round her asking about marriage news between her and Xuan. She coolly replied of course the relationship is for real. Wuyan looked at her and demanded why did he dressed her the same as the model and what was his intention? Flustered and equally shocked, he explained that he had no idea either! Wuyan continued that he didnt have to do this to prove anything as she already know the model is way prettier than her...Xuan tried to calm her and said that wasnt true.. and that the truth was that Yingchun was the one who had arranged for the dress. Howard at the same time and watched at the scene from a distance. Wuyan was furious that he had let yingchun prepared the dress and Xuan stuttered that he would tried to ask the model what it was about. The model spotted them and sashayed over to Wuyan deliberately trying to embarrass her.
She pretended to apologise to wuyan and "lied" to Xuan's questioning that the sponsor must have misunderstood her request for 2 dresses of the same look. The reporters spotted the "clash of identical dressing" and wasted no time to interrogate Wuyan. As she stood there stunned and unable to react like deer caught in a spotlight, Xuan tried to garner all the media's attention away from her and on him interest
by talking about his impending marriage news with Yingchun and distanced himself from Wuyan. He succeeded in drawing the pack of media to follow him, leaving wuyan alone.
Howard meanwhile made his way to lone Wuyan and surprised her with his presence! Howard took her mask away and then exclaimed sincerely that she is beautiful, more beautiful than he could ever dream of. Wuyan again stood there breathless and stunned into silence before breaking into a genuine smile! "You could see" she shrieked! She asked if it was his idea about the mask and just as she was about to say it was inconveniencing the rest, he interrupted that he doesnt care about other people, he only care about her considering what she had done for him. Wuyan thanked him shyly...
Meanwhile, yingchun controlling her jealousy probed about the identical hariclip, and he explained the reason behind it She then coyly asked that he had to give her something else unique to her in future as a symbol of their love. Xuan started to say something that he had something to say to her but she stopped him saying she doesnt want to hear anything else except that he love her, and that she love him. The party started and the announcement of the presentation of the true CEO. Wuyan glanced at Howard who gave her a look before going up the stage. He apologised for hiding his identity due to an illness and delegated the job to his uncle.
Xuan went to Wuyan and asked if it wasnt that she already knew and thus they got the contract. She denied any involvement and prior knowledge. She was equally shocked at the revelation!
The evil model who was fuming with rage told the assistant of her plan and that she wanted to totally destroy Wuyan's pride before the whole crowd. The unwilling assistant asked if it was necessary as the same clothes incident had already embarrass wuyan alot and the model yelled the assistant has to help her!!!
Out of the ballroom, Xuan was still pressing her about her part and knowledge in Howard's true identity. She was infuriated and asked how many countless time does she have to declare her innocence and she had no reason to lie to him? Moreever, she added he was worse to lie about the hairclip. He tried to explain that it was a gift of thanks to her that nite for the hairclip but he had nothing else. She asked if it was for the model. he said yes and she thrust the clip back to him. he asked why was she mad at him whether he tells the truth or not? She retorted she had pride too! With that, he threw the clip away to a shocked wuyan demanding why on earth did he do that?! he smiled and showed his open palm, with the clip safely in his hands. He gave it to her again, saying that while he had been frivolous in the past, he had matured since he met her and asked hasnt she noticed too? He then said he is giving the clip to her a second time, and that he understands responsibility now. He apologised again for today and that he truly had no idea of the dress incident today... Dave saw them and lure wuyan away before warning Xuan that hasnt he warned him to think carefully of his choice?
Howard appeared and Xuan said that he didnt think Howard is the sort to accept a proposal just to get close to his assistant! Howard said if Xuan wants to undermined his own competency and his own hard hard, its his own choice. But if he is interested in wuyan, he wont do it thru this mean. Xuan then asked howard the truth is out isnt it, his interest in his assistant. On pretext of work, Xuan tried to drag Wuyan away from Howard. Howard then asked loudly to Dave but directed at Xuan, "As PR manager, Shouldnt you be concerned about the headlines tomorrow morning, that your top management is double timing his dates today?" Wuyan made an excuse and ask Howard away on pretext of work as well.
Howard led Wuyan away and said he had a present for her, to thank her for everything and denied her refusal. It was a new red gown, and a make up artist joined in. At the same time, trouble was brewing as Dave's mum's sidekick made a call to the authorities about "expired products given away for the event!"
Just as the event was started, the model happily strolled into the open with Xuan. She clinched him closer as but xuan told her not to be so intimate in public but she retorted why not since they are an official couple. However Xuan was not happy to see Wuyan with Howard. Then she signalled her assistant to announce her appearance on stage as she stared at Wuyan with Howard appearing together.
On stage, the model was determined to humilate Wuyan and invited her to come on stage, to unmask her face and to share her personal experience with the foundation!! Xuan was stunned at that move and howard encouraged wuyan not to fear but to go on stage! She continued despite Xuan's protest and egged the crowd to cheer wuyan on. Xuan grabbed the mike and tried to excuse wuyan but Wuyan stopped him and took off her mask, unveiling not an ugly birthmark, but a beautiful butterfly drawn over her birthmark!
The model was shocked and furious at the failure of her ploy to destroy Wuyan's ego! Wuyan explained while she doesnt have the model's look, but despite their insecurity of their own look, but she is sure everyone is like her, to have the same bliss like her by using the product to provde the immense joy and happiness the product usgae had given her. Howard also went up and talked about his past and his understanding of "happiness" - theme of the event. He thanked wuyan for giving him the courage to see the world, to get over the past, and to shine a ray of hope into his heart. Despite her insecurity about her "singular flaw", yet that "flaw" to her is the most unique to him in his heart. Everyone clapped except Xuan who looked on in great discomfort and unease. The model tried to draw his attention to her but he still looked unhappy. Just then trouble struck and all the expired products were taken away...
In office, Xuan was told that that the delivery for products meant for destruction was somehow sent to the event venue. Dave was wreaked with guilt stating it was his responsibility to check and he should be responsible. Wuyan claimed since she is the event planner, she should resign. Xuan tried to hush everyone saying they should not try to credit blame on themselves but work a solution out. However Wuyan was determined to resign from her post regardless....Xuan tried to stop her. However she honestly said that the more she give, the more she hoped for some return and what can he give her? Xuan was speechless.
As she wrote a goodbye letter, Xuan asked if she could not leave, but she said he should spend more time with his dad and not provoke him as the dad truly love him.
Downstairs, she answered howard's call and he stopped his car before her. He said he tried to look for her but was told she was on leave. He asked if she was leaving and then offered a ride, stating he is in the same direction. She tried to reject the offer but he said he really was going back to the country side too to thank the "deity" she had prayed for his recovery. Before she can reject, her brother in law hopped into the car with her sister.
As the car started to leave, Xuan came chasing from behind. The sister asked howard to stop. Howard looked to Wuyan for instruction but Wuyan declined saying to keep going. Howard asked again but Wuyan firmly rejected stopping and the car zoomed away into distance.
Xuan stared at the car as it disappeared out of site and rem the letter she had left for him.
"My Lord Xuan.,
That was something I had always called you since I was young. You used to be the first ray of light into my heart and gave me confidence. I have always liked you. I still liked you despite all your hurtful words. However you are attached now, i cannot keep liking you. Over this period, we have all seen you mature and I trust you can do better, and gain your dad;s trust. Remember, you must persist and not give up!
Wuyan

My Girlfriend is Gumiho Ep 14 Summary and Review
This is also a good ep but I contest the plot. I dont get why did Woo decide to conceal the new "truth" from MH.
Ok so the hottie hunter told Woo that if MH's tail continues to disappear, she will die because his blood within her is killing both the fox and human essence within her. Ok, the reason that the imbalance causing her to switch uncontrollably between fox and human is taking place is a result from her overwhelming strong desire to become human and overriding the fox's essence...(as to how that will kill her which Hottie Hunter claim is beyond my understanding, since the death assumption with each missing tail is based on the logic of not having any human essence in her)
As MH happily declared to Woo that another of her tail has gone missin, Woo sinks into state of depression ( he contemplates what he has to do next - leave her) , while MH on the other hand, rejoices in the very idea that she is progressing to a "more humanly state" with each missing tail.
I kinda get it and yet dun quite get it. I understand why he did wat he did but I couldnt wrap round my head as to why couldnt Woo just honestly tell her the truth rather than make the decision unilaterally? At least she could try or at least understand why he has to leave. Afterall, didnt he just told her not to sacrifice herself blah blah blah and that they should crave their own destiny together since My hottie Hunter wont know what is next either after he return the fox bead? So suddenly he is all trusting of Hottie Hunter again without a single doubt that this may also be a ploy for him to get MH? Hmmmm...all very trusting there...when Hottie isnt exactly his best buddy....
So now what we have is a self sacrificial Woo, who decided to "harden" his heart and lie to MH that he no longer wants to be with her. Instead of the truth, He choose to break her heart saying that he sees her as a "monster" and left, leaving her sobbing her heart out and him drenched in the afternoon rain...
At the end of the episode, we see that Hottie Hunter has closed his clinic, MH strolling the streets alone assuming her new identity, and Woo assuming that MH has left with Hottie Hunter.
Of course I expect a happy ending that MH and Woo ends up together. The only question remains is how with 12 more days remaining... Initially, I had thought Hottie Hunter will have to sacrifice himself somehow to accomodate the love of the two but judging from these recent 2 episode, that doesnt seem to be the direction. Can Woo's interim's departure from MH's side truly be the real "cure" to MH's situation and help her live? How is it that after 100 days, a renewed desire from MH's to become human will not cause any "disharmony" within? The answer to the mystery awaits us....
PS: By the end of this post, you will notice I have watched 2 eps back to back...heheh...I am happy to announce I am once again bright eye-bushy tail and all ready to do my drama marathon! Not exactly 100% but My engine is restarting, all set to high gear and raring to go! Va-va Voom!!!

My Girlfriend is Gumiho Ep 13 Summary and Review
OMG! Ep 13 of My Gf is Gumiho is positively the best ep to date for these recent weeks! It was both touching and endearing at the same time!
Not to mention the increasing airtime for Mr Fox Hunter! Goodness me, the more I see him, the cuter and more delicious he gets! (and he can relatively act too...not stony posing beauty) There is something about his hair, his facial features, his long lines that is soooooo attractive...*droool* And when he starts to tear, begs you with those passionate-can-die-for-you eyes, I swear I went starry eyes, glazed over, dreamily blank and my heart just melted again...
Back to story. The focus was on Miho determination to "die" on Woo's behalf. However Mr Hunter tried to disrupt her decision and dissuade her with all the negative theories as to why she shouldnt choose to die for a mere mortal, and she is over fantasying about the concept of love rather than acknowledge the merciless cold hard truth that no man will die for her if they learn the truth...
So comes the funny part where Miho's wavering thoughts and her various "hypothetical" questioning, to test if Woo will really abandon her to save his own skin. His replies were so funny and Miho started to pout and fume at the "disagreeable" responses. While she soon come to her own realisation that she had never pin any hope for Woo to agree to die for her, yet she cling on to the hope and belief that memories of her will be etched deeply and permanently in his heart/mind. So again our cute little innocent Miho set forth to test Woo on his "love" through recollections of recent events... of course, the unsuspecting Woo "failed" the tests and got Miho all upset and huff and puff. Still, Miho came round when she learnt that Woo had forced himself to accompany her to the zoo, a place where he feared and hated going most due to his parents death area there. She realised that for her own desire to be remembered, she was inflicting pain and agony to Woo at his expense...for that, she came to a decision to purely be satisfied to spend her last 50days with Woo happily.
Meanwhile Mr Hottie decided he wasnt gonna let history repeat itself and watches his "beloved" to die for a mortal man. So he tried all means and tactic to stop her self sacrificial move. He tried again to talk her out of it but to no avail. He told her he had made the mistake once and caused him thousand years of heartache and he wasnt about to repeat his error. Miho reminded him that she wasnt the same woman that he had loved thousand years back.... Desperate not to see her die and crush her "love fantasy", he was forced to tell Woo's senior the truth and to relay the "truth of the whole death thing" message to Woo. Thru her, he hopes to prove to Miho that Woo will run away and all her efforts are for nothing. Miho was upset with what he did because she had not wanted Woo to be placed in the same position as her, to make a choice of who to die. At the airport, Woo didnt appear and Mr Hottie persuaded Miho to join him in Japan instead, and he will search Woo out before the timeline. She pretended to go along but when he was distracted, she slips away. Thinking that Woo wouldnt appear, she still decided not to let Woo die for her sake.
At the same time, Woo after learning the truth still dashes to Miho! His senior asked if he was mad but he was even more determined to get to Minho because he will not let anyone die! Just as he arrived, he spotted Miho who was escaping from Hottie. He called out to her and Miho was stunned and gone teary, not expecting her true love to stand before her across the road!
They slowly walked towards each other, thanks to the courtesy of the traffic police on both sides holding the car in place so that they can amble without care of being crushed by any vehicle. Woo asked if it was true about the "death" thingie and Miho nodded meekly. Woo declared that since its cast and concrete with this absurd condition, and that he will neither quietly wait to die nor run away, since it was exactly 50 days, Miho should take the bead out of him now! Then both of them will not have to choose to die for each other. Miho questioned if it was even possible but Woo told her that this is the decision from a man who loves her. Even if it may be a stupid mistake, he will make it with her. He wont have to be a sitting duck waiting to die, and Miho just not become being human. From this point, no one will know what will happen, not even Mr hottie for sure! Instead, they will create their own destiny, walk their own path, and they get to choose what they desire. So they could either live or die but it doesnt matter. Miho nodded and remarked, they will both hang on to the single life saving rope. With that said, the couple hugged and kissed, as the bead slowly surfaced...
As I had said earlier... I really like this ep! Hooo Hooo! Now I am off to ep 14!!!! Wat will Mr hottie do now?!
Another note from me..
I was mulling about the best way to share my Scandinavia trip.
I'm a purist at heart (most of time at least) so I figure I really shouldnt swamp this site with my travel pixs...distracting the true purpose of this blog.
So instead, I had decided to branch out to another blog, that will solely be my "online photo album" instead. For for those who are interested, bookmark this site http://seen-thru-my-eyes.blogspot.com/, and I will slowly (super duper slowly) load my Scandinavia pictures up there.
It's gonna be another one of those harebrained ambitious project that I have been procrastinating...to have my own photos site. I just never found the time to do it. Hope this new addition will be as warmly received as this current drama site:) As usual, will be great to knowwhat you think of it:)

Review on Playful Kiss (up to ep 6) and still shaking my head
It's me *cough cough* *sniff sniff*..
Still battling the nasty cold but I manage to catch up on Playful Kiss + My gf is Gumiho and finished Baker King.
Maybe I am sick, so my patience is a little low but Playful Kiss barely got my excitement level up any notch. I was hoping to see some sparks, get my heart thumping rapidly but alas...perhaps I am too demanding, I didnt really enjoy Playful Kiss at all up to ep 6. There are of course a few scene that got me smiling, like Ohani sneaking into KHJ's room and he started guffawing when she said it was better to start a relationship on healthy ground. When KHJ smiled there, I swear he took my breath away. Much of the episodes zoom past because I couldnt stand the stupid part, esp those involving Hani's friends esp the loser punk hair guy who harbours unrequited love for Hani. I have no patience for sorry ass who cannot even make me laugh except to frown at their stupid clowning around. Seriously, do senior high kids really act like that? I must have gone to a super serious school because no one I know is that lame.
Plus as the series progress, is it just me (it prob is) but I felt the whole drama was more focused on Hani than BSJ aka KHJ. It's really all about her. They might as well as renamed it as "Oh Hani's fantasy with BSJ." They had so much "internal emotional moments" for her and barely any for KHJ.
I felt the drama execution was atrocious because it meanders along without a moment of insight, skim thru superficial struggles and some of the scenes simply loses or did not have any attached meaning, thus losing the impact that was supposedly to consolidate the feeling between KHJ and Oh Hani character. Take for example.
- Oh Hani had her class over and forces KHJ to teach them Physics. The ep just dances ard the thought and then disappear with no further elaboration. It doesnt relate any thing or any feeling that KHJ had and the impact it had on him when the "loser class" supposedly score well thank to him
- And Oh Hani went to work to buy him an expensive present. He overheard and that was it? The Taiwan version expresses the change of the guy way better in the sense that he begun to appreciate the girl's effort and shows it thru taking photo with her.
This drama bashing has nothing to do with whether KHJ can act, he simply wasnt given the chance to act proper. They simply want to capitalize on his looks and try to smoke screen their way out of a lousy written script that makes no head nor tail. Then again, he need to do better than have that dead fish eye look half the time when he isnt smiling or supposedly angry. I dunno if it was the director who wanted him to act cool, or he just hasnt got it yet about displaying emotions.
There are many more scene that I can find fault with but its not worth my time. As I had stated way earlier before the drama aired that I was watching mainly for KHJ's smiles and look, and at least i did get a few moments that I get to go Ooooooo...
The drama is too rushed. They tried to condensed 2 seasons of the Taiwan version into one season. No wonder they couldnt adequately bring foth the human connection and interaction. If KHJ wasnt the star, I honestly swear I wont be wasting my time on this lame series.
Did I mention that I dont really like the curly perm perm hair that KHJ has in ep 6 where he started Uni?
Reminds me of my grandma who use to proudly come home to showcase her neighborhood perm job...
Am I being mean? Must be the cold tablets talking....
"sighing" out...

Playful Kiss Episode 1 Review (or better put..thrashings)
Just finished the first episode of Playful Kiss and my verdict of episode 1 is that it stinks sky high. I couldnt believe HOW INCREDIBLY BORING the first 30mins was. The remaining mins were not any better, but just more in tune with the manga. On the whole, it was so nonsense, unoriginal, waste of time and film and repeat - boring.
To tear it down simply, they overdid the "romanticising" portion to a point it was irritating. How old do they think the TV audience tuning in are? 6years old? White horse, garden of eden, pony tails and elves? What the hell???!!! Give me a break. Secondly, I hate the amount of makeup they put on KHJ. Are they trying to turn him into a pretty GIRL?!!! He is fine as he is, we like him as a guy, not some bloody doll up Barbie-Ken version. Just stop decking him in tons of eyeshadow and lip gloss for heaven sake. It's showing up soooo badly on Tv. Plus the script of him correctin the love letter is sooooooo WAY OUT OF CONTEXT. A bright guy as brillant as him, and looking at everyone else with disdain will never ever bother to take the time to read the letter. He will most prob dump it into the trash in real life. So what will trigger him to read the letter? It's so out of character. Plus, the main character is sort of antisocial but he is not mean nor arrogantly obnoxious, so the manga character will never humiliate Oh Hani so publicly with her bad results either. He may say it to her in private but not in front of the student body and teacher. Which is why I am still in favor of the Taiwanese version where he just cast the letter aside and not bother with it till later when he actually develop feelings for the girl. Everything the korean version has done just borders on disbelief and illogical.
Thirdly, during the vending machine scene and classroom scene, I felt as if I was watching a bad remake of Goong (Princess Hours). The rolling down of the leggings, the bunch of not so bright art student gathering together, the sterotyping of fat people = daughter of some pork shop. And I was even more horrified to see the ending with the bears. it IS EXACTLY the same as Princess Hours as I had earlier suspected. Where is the fresh ideas? Why are the shadows of a previous successful drama sneaking in all over? Why must it be piggy pack on something else? Doesnt the director has anymore new tricks up his sleeves? It really grinds my nerves to see how a very good manga got remake into such a lousy first episode. It's almost shameful to say.
I am hoping hope against hope that the following epsiodes will be better and only episode one is a MAJOR LET DOWN. I think it is grossly unfair that the heat is on KHJ now to carry the show, rather than a good script. I couldnt shake off the feeling that the Taiwanese script is way way much better and more realistic just for the starting episode. I was hoping Korean version could come up with something matching or better but I am fairly disappointed by what I have seen today.
I know I sound very critical and dismayal but because I am since this is such a highly anticipated drama by many. How can they ruin it so badly for the premier airing? If they cannot do a better job than the Taiwanese version which was done rather well, then they should leave the manga alone and attempt something else if all they want to do is copy the "quality" and "vision" of Goong. Plus I am harsh because I would hate it when someone ruin my manga for me. Dont adapt the manga if you cannot stick to the story development. There is no white horse in there stupid, and no one at that age still dreams of prince charming as a white horse in general.
All said and ranted, I am still rooting for KHJ. If the drama dropped its viewer rating, I can only blame it on the productor, the script writers. I think the cast are trying their best to protray what was dish out to them....
I am crossing my fingers for better sequel episodes but hey, at least I know I have one less drama weighing on my mind as I wander around Scandinavia next 2 weeks.

The labor union of Korea's broadcasting staffs, actors, singers, and artists announced late on Sunday that they will "refuse to participate in any of the 13 outsourced shoots indefinitely until the major broadcasting companies resolve unpaid wage problems and guarantee that there won't be any relapse of the situation".
The boycott decision was made on Aug. 27 in an emergency meeting of board of representatives. The body will hold a press conference on Sept. 1 to release all schedules they're firmly rejecting to participate.
According to the press release, all subcontracted dramas and shows are to take hiatus until the wage issue is resolved. Consequently, viewers inevitably have to go for weeks without KBS 2TV's popular soap opera "Bread, Love and Dreams", SBS' "Giant", "I Am Legend", and MBC's "Gloria", and "Kim Soo Ro".
