SS501 uncertain future: A 5 or 4 team member remains a mystery

Will SS501 still be around? Maybe for a while but I doubt it will remained a 5 member team for long after KHJ has gone on to sign his contract with Bae Yong Jun's company. Oh well, its anyone's guesses. What would you prefer? I much prefer KHJ striking out on his own for his own career development.

As for the fate for SS501, it will prob be injection of new replacement or going alone with the current 4. With KHJ under a different company, there is no longer an exclusive committment to time schedule, tours and joint activities. Even if KHJ wants to fulfil his leader obligation , he now has another obligation to meet - his new company's direction. I'm sure they must have work out some possible short term for him to perform his SS501 role but come on, let's face the fact, for the long term, why would (should) Keyeast need to compromise with DSP since KHY is officially disassociated with DSP? Revenue might be plausible but I think artist agency rather develop their own flagship celebs as their biz strategic growth. Plus in all honesty, which artist in the right mind would want to be a boy band singer forever when another company can groom you as an individual artist leading to bigger possibilities and development?

So if you ask me, I am not hopeful that SS501can remain a 5 member team for long.... unlike Super junior which started off with 13 members, they can still afford to lose a couple of guys. Not to mention the company strategy was never to present them as a unit of 13, but they were split into varius smaller unit combination which works well to appeal to the various fan base.

It's all my speculation right now but , I dont really mind since I dont want to see an aging guy band still prancing around dance moves like a teeny bopper just to satisfy teenage girl fans. One NKOTB joke is enough, let's not make it an Asian one as well. I much prefer to see individual growth anyway and there frankly, there really isnt any reason to be sad, it's not like they are leaving the entertainment scene. They are just going seperate ways, big deal.... Plus KHJ media exposure will no doubt double even more after going solo since he is no longer constraint as a group body. That makes me happy! LOL

Saw this article:

SS501's leader Kim Hyun Joong has signed with Keyeast Entertainment and with the surprise of leaving SS501, The remaining 4 members will be taking a break.

Earlier this month, their exclusive contract with DSP has expired and on the 29th through a press conference, DSP entertainment said "Leader Kim Hyun Joong has signed with the agency the same of his good friend Bae Yong Jun Keyeast. We have not yet decided if SS501 will continued with 4 members".

Following this, DSP said, "Kim Hyung Joon's activities being a DJ in SBS Music High will continue while the rest of the members Young Saeng, Kim Kyu Joong, and Park Jung Min will be taking a break and rest".

Although, the disbandment of SS501 is not yet confirmed. SS501 just had their first Asian tour last year and fans are greatly saddened for the sudden uncertainty of SS501's future.
